How do PSU's with dual 12 volt rails work in regards do both the rails feed the same 12volt line or is one rail dedicated to a set of pins on the ATX connector and the other feed seperate pins on the ATX connector?

If you have two rails at 14A, do you in fact end up with what would be the same as a single rail PSU at 28A? What happens when you use a 24pin PSU connector to 20pin motherboard adapter?

12v2 feeds the processor alone through the EPS or P4/AUx connector. While 12v1 feeds everything else o nthe motherboard, and the molex's.

Only rarely. 12v amperage is capped by the design. If the unit has a single recifier it is capped to whatever that recitifiers output is.

On a system that the processor is 12v regulkated it works. On a system that is 5v regulated you can expereince crossloading issues and ssytem instability.

This has all been covered numerous times. Searching will answer a lot of your questions.

Thanks.
