Can someone explain Bing cashback?

I'm under the impression that you search on Bing, click through to your vendor... but then what?

Do you need to have a Bing/ MS Live account? Does MS cut you a check or does the participating vendor just discount your order? Are they generally able to be combined with other offers?

I'm about to build a $1000+ computer system, so 5-10% off some components would really stack up!

Okay, found this link: http://www.bing.com/shopping/pages/howtouse.aspx

It appears that you DO need to start a Bing cashback account, and that you get a check from... MS?
yea MS is the one that pays you for using their search service (bing).

When you're able to cashout (usually 60 days, but can be instant sometimes), you can choose to be paid via paypal, check, or directly to a bank account.

If Bing = Microsoft
and Bing pays Newegg
then whose pocket does that discount money come out of? I guess Microsoft just raises their software prices? I mean it's not like we need to stock Bing in the middle to purchase from Newegg... all it does it raise Newegg's cost for the advertising that isn't needed. Hmm...

Well it's a win-win for Microsoft. They increase visibility of Bing and get money from advertisers.
