How does BF2 really sound on X-FI ??

I think that they are saying that X-Meridian sounds better in games without EAX feature like Oblivion. BF2 is a game, not games :D .

Sorry but that's just what I mean by BS!

No, they said Games and NO disclaimers and one even pointed to Battlefield2 as an example. I've not argued about Oblivion because as some of us have said, it sounds like shit on any card compared to OpenAL games. I talked about Halo, America's Army, FEAR, Doom3, Prey and other OpenAL GAMES. These sound a hell of a lot better than none EAX/OpenAL game or two here and there. Just as my *imaginary friends have tested LOL! That's goes for anyone here doing an HONEST A/B. If the games didn't dammit I'd be here saying so. The best sounding non EAX/OpenAL game I've listened to is Halflife2. IMHO it sounds better on the frackin' X-Fi as well.

Another one of those imaginary friends has peaked my interests in doing two cards and adding a XMeridian no less LOL!

Well, I don't really link my X-Fi to my X-Meridian all the time because most of the games I play don't support EAX and I don't play much games on PC anymore. When I want to play a game with EAX, I just use Velbac to connect my X-Fi to X-Meridian. I think that this setup gives me a better sound than using X-Fi alone but actually I use Velbac not to get a better sound from games, I'm not too picky with the sound from games. It is much easier to use than crawling to the back of my PC to change the cable from my X-Meridian to my X-Fi. Btw I also just got myself a PS3 :D

You seem to have issue with Guru3D and their members maybe you should go there and tell them about it.:p X-Ram is marketing crap. Even most people who bought a Card with X-Ram know that.

I would if I weren't banned;)

Hey ALG, you have a X-fi linked to a XM correct? So I wonder which would sound better in games, your two card combo or a X-fi? -Well you know,;) which sounds better?
just for the forums information. That app is definatley cool.:cool:
WIll be good for gamers when the HDMI cards come out. They can use that app and link up...
The fact remains that some people like EAX some don't. Neither is right nor wrong.

See, you can't eat your cake and save/have it too;) The folks using the two cards know OpenAL sounds better and EAX doesn't suck:) When CMedia Does finally support OpenAL and maybe even software EAX, then these folks can dump the Creative cards. Until then, CMedia in gaming rig is just as absurd as using an X-Fi for a Music/Movie based rig.

If it didn't sound better or have support for better gaming sounds and sound engines, there wouldn't anyone one using two cards. They'd just use their CMedia cards that has better DACs and OpAMps.

Just me and not speaking for anyone else, I think these folks may be onto something with these two cards with software links.

All your info and points is nothing more then OPINION. You like EAX in Games others do not. it is a subjective matter not a hard and fast rule. The people running the two cards are definatley onto something. That app is not going anywhere it wil be developed further according to the people I spoke with. There is alot more to it then just using it for gaming. It allows a modular approach to your audio subsystem. It has nothing to do with EAX guys VS. Non EAX guys. As I pointed out about using that app with a HDMI card. People could have their EAX games running over a HDMI interface, you will be waiting along time waiting for CL to do a HDMI card. For the record it was two guys from Guru3D and one guy from Driver Heaven that developed that application.

It's those folks' opinion that use two cards are well worth it and why can't you figure that out? Look at all you've said? Now please note how many times you said OpenAL? Now there isn't a damned thing subjective about OpenAL. You either have it, or you don't=P Trying to frame your argument on EAX and downplaying OpenAL is a joke and a bad one at that. Yet all of your posts feature this same glaring flaw.

Now, there wouldn't be ANY NEED for bothering with two cards if folks agreed with you. The folks who came up with the drivers aren't the same ones talking about EAX & OpenAL are hype and etc.........

LOL:p OMG..I'll leave that one alone. On another note, Now your going dual card aswell?
I don't downplay anything, I just said it's a preference in games. You act like everybody out there that plays games on a PC uses EAX or OPenAL. Anyhow..let's not turn this into a argument.

What's worse is kids buy these cards becasue of the marketing crap thinking they will get some boost in games becasue of X-Ram. They end up being disapointed.:(

X-RAM will never amount to anything because for it to amount to something, every x-fi card needs to have it so software devs take advantage of it.

Scroll down and take a look at BF2. X-FI on Ultra holds same level as Audigy2ZS on high.

Never put "OMG" in your posts, it belittles you and what you have to say.

There's nothing to argue about, folks use two cards because they know EAX and or OpenAL is better than plain assed Generic software sound. No matter how good a modded XMeridian can output it. It's what happens before the data reaches the DACs and Opamps that kills it.

I'm not here talking about XMeridian Sucks. It has a lot going for it. Unfortunately Games sounds isn't one of those things. I could be very happy with an XMeridian Downstairs in my Den doing HTPC duties.

Actually, I said what I said because I know of no other way to respond to something as OFF as what you said..
EAX and OpenAL is nothing but a preference...Nothing more..
Enough with the EAX, NON EAX Debate. People have their own opinions about it...

EAX = 3
OpenAL = 1

Well at least you're getting better:) You're right and most serious gamers think Generic software sounds sound like crap but that's preference as well.

@Met-AL, Your right, Useless. What's bad is alot of people bought these cards hoping for a great boost in games and got nothing.

BTW, congrats on the PS3!
