i sometimes wonder if whats used in laptops would be even better if used on desktops? *shrug*
 
laptops usually have a heatpipe setup and a thermally controlled fan or a fan controlled by processor load. Laptop processors are sometimes also set up to not use 100% of cpu if say it's not plugged in.

Yes, do a search on mobile XP chips.
