Just something to gross y'all out :D

So my brother bought a 360mm Rasa 750 watercooling setup 2 years ago. Used the stock hose. He's out of town half the year and I fold so the loop is always going. [H]orde IRC folks will recall the Fukushima Incident with this AMD x6....my brother fat-handed and unplugged the water pump, and the system had zero flow for 8-10 days....I went to start up F@H and found 95C temps, boiling hot water and hose that was on the verge of melting. Well, I replugged and it still runs to this day. I never redid the hose because it ain't my rig, and it ain't my problem and it still works. The Fukushima Incident was 1 calendar year ago.

Last night my brother declared he wanted to get it rehosed: here's a partially melted hose length (this hose was held in place with a ziptie, note the white paper underneath. The end of the hose is still fairly clear where it was over the barb for perspective....zip tie teeth are permanently melted into the hose.

Distilled water and KillCoil, no goo in the res.

No goo in the res? Are you sure? try scratching it a little bit :)
You should also consider doing a little maintenance to the water pump as well ;)

I told my brother to flush the gear when some sediment came out when the coolant was drained...he was lazy though and didn't want to despite my objections. Not my loop kit my or system, not my problem. So long as it cools enough to run F@H while the owner is away, I don't care. :D

*Sidenote: said brother was also about a bottle of wine by himself down...and when putting the loop backtogether almost forgot to include the CPU block in the loop. i.e. pump->rad->pump.

This is why gravy is a bad idea for a coolant. :p

At least I hope it was that...

Coca-Cola is not a recommended coolant. YMMV.
