Homefront - March 2011

Lol at all the people who paid 60$ for the game and are now bitching.

THis is what rewiews and gameplay videos are for.

Someone has to buy it. Cant always trust reviewers. These same reviewers say all the CoD games = sliced bread.

Lol the game sucks, I'm already bored since it's just a COD clone...

I thought it was supposed to make you feel like you weren't killing wave after wave of enemy soldier...that's exactly what you have to do in the game.

Gg 60$.

Next time: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Pc+game+reiwews+and+gameplay+videos

Have you tried remapping then resetting?

same thing, remapped to P.

criccio is experiencing the same thing. so are my other two friends.

I been through the settings but then again who would have thought FPS smoothing (mouse smoothing) would be in system settings instead of controls - which needs to be turned off otherwise this game is terribly unplayable.

For those that are thinking about buying the retail version (as I did) you will be more than disappointed to know that only HALF of the files are on the Disc. You still have to D/L about 5 gigs off of Steam. Lame, just lame.

Probably will pick the game up when it goes on sale.

Will get a better idea when more videos come out, but the gameplay looked a little slow or maybe that wasnt a full server, idk.

Anyone know if there is a hardcore mode?

this one takes the cake.....

I've only played through a bit of the SP and I like it. Lots of bad guys, lots of cover, several weapon choices etc. The opening intro was pretty sweet IMO, painted a pretty grim picture.

So far, so fun. While the gameplay doesn't break any new barriers, it's still enjoyable It's also one of the better looking U3 engine based games I've seen. It does up the DX11 renderer but I'm not positive about it using tessellation. I've looked through the config files and have seen tessellation mentioned, but since it's not in the in-game option screen I wouldn't think it's enabled. Getting this and Metro 2033 for $40 is a pretty good deal.

This is exactly why people pirate games before they buy them. The single player is decent but the MP? WTF???? Also (it's not the game's fault) but there's no CFX profile yet so the game runs like crap on triple monitors without having both cards running. Ah yes, also that... No triple monitor support, luckily the U3 engine is easy to modify through the config file once you figure out what aspect ratio you need.

Seriously, the M110 leaves a smoke trail? No travel time? No recoil? No bullet drop? I *have* a 7.62 AR and I can tell you, it definitely doesn't leave smoke trails, doesn't shoot lasers for bullets and most definitely has a lot of recoil.

What about the ammo interchangeability? I can't pick up mags from an ACR or Diablo and use it in an M4? Uhhhh, ok.

That is just a couple examples of the weapon mistakes in the game that make me not enjoy it

They are definitely dedicated servers. Yes theres a lobby for inbetween matches, but not in the sense of CoD.

Oh I know they are dedicated servers. I am talking more about waiting 60 seconds or so between matches.

In COD you did the same thing even if the host didn't change.

I finished the campaign in just over 3 hours and took my time.. anyone else have same experience? Thinking of playing it again though for all the achievements.

If you don't care about spoilers watch the video, if not, watch the video and save yourself some time.

Pretty much echos how I feel about the SP portion of the game, while I had those issues with it I did love it and had a great time playing it (about 6 hours I think). Not too bad considering I got it for $50 with Metro on Steam. I had been looking forward to this game and while I feel it was too short I did enjoy my time with it. I think I got my moneys worth (haven't tried MP, hate MP but I will take a peek later).

3-hour campaign on first playthrough are you serious?! I know the main draw to these games is the multiplayer but come on, just over three hours for the entire singleplayer is pretty pathetic.

Same here. Once you run, you run forever!

Yeah, everyone else said 6-7 hours or something but I took my time and beat it in just over 3.

One thing that bothers me about all this is that user base is crucial to experience. So by default COD is always gonna have the better experience and the most people playing. Just annoys me that these days nothing else is gonna be given a decent chance if it isn't COD/BF/CS. So if Homefront doesn't have an epic userbase from the start its gonna sink like a stone.

I find that hard to believe, especially when so many people are saying it took them 6. I've played a little over an hour and I'm just scratching the surface.

Maybe if he's one of those lame assholes who skips all the cut scenes on their first play through completely skipping the story just so he could say "dudes, it's not that long. It only took me 3 HOURS TO BEAT IT."

I do have one complaint about the SP so far. Some actions you cant do until an NPC does it first. For example you come up to a trapdoor to go t a secret tunnel you know you have to go through it, but you cant until the NPC with you goes first.

WOLVERINES!!!!!!

The game story was written by the same guy who wrote Red Dawn, so im not suprised theres a reference to the Wolverines!

Oh and for my opinion.... I was incredibly disappointed with the game itself. The graphics seemed heavily outdated, which isnt the only reason I score it low. The MP is fine in some respects, but running = crap, its almost the same speed as walking which is sad, the sensitivity options were terrible. I had it all the way up and still couldnt move as fast as I wanted. I am not a CoD fanboy in any respects, but I felt Black Ops was a better purchase than Homefront was, and I still dont like Black Ops enough to feel it was worth the $45 I spent on it..... However, Metro 2033 was worth the purchase to me :)

Derangel will be disappointed - he likes Digital Extremes :(.

It is being reported that THQ share prices have gone down in value 21% due to Homefront's average review score of 72 on Metacritic.
