Home server on SR2 w/ubuntu + WHS: how to use dual NICs?

I have Ubuntu 10.10 (about which I know very little) running on my SR2. The SR2 has dual built in NICs. Because I want to take advantage of some of WHS' features, I am running WHS in a virtualbox VM.

I am using the box as a file server/media streamer. I have files being served by both Ubuntu and by the WHS, so both OSs will be serving files at different times.

Given this setup, what is the best way to utilize the NICs? Should I just team them and let ubuntu/virtualbox handle the load distribution?

Or, should I somehow dedicate the 2nd NIC to Virtualbox and leave the 1st NIC to ubuntu?

I'm a linux noob, so easy guides are helpful.

If you were using VMware I'd say bond them and let the hypervisor figure it out. With Ubuntu as the host OS, I'm not really sure.

I'd like to know this as well. I run a Server 2008 VM and would like to do the same.

I just run 2008r2 and virtual all the rest in 2008r2
