Hobby

Is it really just a hobby or do you also sell products? BTW, how have you been dealing with CCD?
 
yep,honeybees.My father got me interested in 1972 :)
 
I am glad you keep bees and let them stay put, I think moving them all over the place on trucks is not good for them.

I hope you make some powerful hive queens to sell.

My aunts husband used to keep bees, and the honey was really good. In small stores around here there is no shortage of good Canadian honey from local suppliers, im happy to support them and buy real honey when i run out. (i like it best "just before" its about to crystallize)

I sell some honey,but not enough to turn a profit. CCD is why i called it an expensive hobby :D I try to split the hives to make up for the ones i've lost

You must be single or have a very understanding significant other in order to survive having TWO expensive hobbies.

I owe my wife an expensive V-Day gift (that I shouldn't afford) because I bought a $135 case for my SR2 (that I shouldn't have bought).

I guess keeping the Mrs. happy is my other expensive hobby.

Not too bad of an idea. Have a sore throat? Let me go out to the hive to get some honey and make you a cup of tea and you will feel better. :)

Try not to get stung even if you are wearing one of the suits. Never know if there is a hole in the suit and you do not know about it and next thing you know, looks like I have been stung and I think I am possibly allergic to it as I need a doctor. :eek:
Actually, I think I am possibly allergic to a degree to bee stings! :(
 
Wow, I hope you post more pictures once it warms up. I am hoping that someone figures out what can be done about CCD as I love honey too much for it to keep skyrocketing in price like it is these days.........

Recently, a growing case against neonicotinoids (insect pesticides) has been developing among scientists researching the problem. From everything I read and heard on documentaries, it has me convinced.
