The first full gameplay video has been released, I gotta say I'm mighty impressed! Seems like a great evolution of the series. Only thing I could do without is that "see through walls" deal. Thankfully it seems like you can choose just not to use it. This isn't Deus Ex after all.

I love the ending with the SWAT in the hallway. And being dressed as a cop and having that tense "do they notice me?" slowdown.

From what I understand it will be a mix of hunting and being hunted, which is a bit different than we're used to from the Hitman series. But even in this somewhat scripted public demonstration I could see tons of different ways it could've played out.

This video really skyrocketed this game to my must-have list.

Now *that* is how you make a gameplay trailer!

Between the commentary of the police captain, the guy in the drug den flushing the goods, and the donuts in the lobby of the hotel, I am definitely sold on this game.

That was good. That was very good. That is most definitely how you make a gameplay trailer. This is now a must have game for me, just depends on how long I can wait for it to drop in price... who know that might mean a 10% preorder discount lol

Has definitely changed a lot since the "classic" Hitman games, sharing more in common with Splinter Cell and Batman AA, with not much evidence of the Accidental Death Simulator approach.

I'm confident this will be a good game, but it will be a different game and I can bet there will be a lot of people who won't enjoy that one bit.

This looks really, really good. It is however different than the other hitman games, which I'm not too happy about, but I can overlook for how fucking badass that gameplay trailer was.

I do know some hardcore hitman fans will not be pleased, though.

I think I'd like this more if it had the Kane & Lynch label on it or it was an entirely new IP. IO has been in pretty bad form since Blood Money and I don't think it can afford to dick around with the Hitman formula too much.

Wow, that was great. Loving the soundtrack to go with and that epic walk away at the end

Damn, fantastic. A little different from previous Hitman games in that there's more of a stealth element than a hide in plain sight element. But it looks like they could easily have both. Starting to think this game won't disappoint.

everything about this owns except for the wallhack flame shit which can apparently be turned off.

well i'm excited.

it seems like alot of dev's are dropping the ball lately, this one actually looks like it'll come through! great great video!

Hmm, Kane & Lynch is a good IP but both games sucked hardcore, it would be nice to see it re-made the "right" way. I feel the same way about Army of Two, another great game that could have done so much better.

Been playing since Hitman 1, and liking what I see here. Stays true to the core concepts. Voice sounds off, no idea why they wouldn't bring Bateson back. Actually seems closer to how 47 would operate in "lore" based on information in the previous games.

One thing to keep in mind, this doesn't seem like an assassination type mission, those will probably play differently. This seems more similar to levels in Contracts, like the first and last mission, where you are being "hunted" so to speak.

Each game in the series has had game play changes from the previous, more so then I think many people realize. I was expecting the same.

I can't wait for this one. Loved the last one..was about 5 years ago I believe.

I'm impressed, looks like it'll have a lot of attention to detail. Always enjoyed Hitman games.

My expectations are more tenative at this point especially with them kicking Bateson and most especially and unforgivably Jesper Kyd to the curb basically.

That's like kicking John Williams off of a Star Wars movie.

In case some of you missed these, they're worth skimming through:

I stand by everything I wrote in those threads. No need to repeat myself. I hope the game is good certainly. I wish a sequel had come out a lot sooner than this.

Damn right.

I could have lived with no Bateson, but no Jesper Kyd? Seriously, what the fuck!?

Easily half my enjoyment of the Hitman games is the music. I've got all the tunes saved on my PC and frequently find myself listening to them.

I could have totally accepted a fully consolised hitman game if Jesper was there, but now it's gotta be a pretty effing spectacular game to make up for this.

Next I'll be hearing no "Silent Assasin" mission ratings...

It's a deviation from the formula, but it's also a demo designed to showcase all the aspects of the game in one short, sweet walkthrough. I do hope that the game has a greater focus on the Hitman style incognito gameplay as opposed to the Arkham Asylum/Splinter Cell stealth and scripted encounters (like the chopper).

I've always liked the Hitman series for being able to blend in and walk right out the front door after finishing your mission.

Damn, they did a great job on that there. Really atmospheric, believable lived-in type environment. Looking good. I Played all the others except the original, will be keeping an eye on this one.

I'm really surprised nobody's called this out for looking like a dumbed down piece of shit. Seeing through walls? This is Hitman, not predator, the only thing separating this game from all the other cliché third person shooters is the fact that it's a frigging bald dude.

Not to mention they've taken the Map out of the game now, the only thing that would have encouraged the tactical gameplay that was so great about the previous games. It's another bastardized franchise made to appeal to stupid people.

My thoughts exactly..

It looks like it could be a decent game, reminiscent of Batman AA or Assassins Creed, but what I saw in that video was not Hitman.

That looked absolutely amazing. It played out just like a movie. I wasn't all that interested in this until now.

So don't use it.

The map? I don't know if you recall, but if you played on an actual difficulty level above "HI I'M USELESS GIVE ME OMNISCIENCE" The map didn't tell you anything. Why the fuck would you have a map of any and all arbitrary buildings anyway? Stop sniveling.

I played on all the difficulty settings thank you very much, the maps together with briefing made the game tactical, and things required more than a couple of brain cells. I'm sorry if you like having your hand held through a SuPEr AWeSOme ciNemaTiC experience down a set Linear path, but not everyone has that simple minded take on games like you clearly do.

Don't get all upset when someone has a different opinion than you either, you're the one that sounds like he's sniveling sir. Enjoy your pew pew pew helicopters bro! Don't worry, you have regenerating health too!

Hell yeah! I remember buying the 1st 2 hitmen games...... they are a classic series every true gamer must play on the PC. The only thing that disappointed me so far of all their games, has been how they included a few of the old levels into the new games. Like WTF, didn't I play this level the last hitman game?

So far so good though, well made and super fun replay value

You're the one complaining about an optional easy-mode feature in an unreleased game and then, somewhat bizarrely, going on to tout the merits of the map, which was one of the most unrealistic and easy-mode things about previous Hitman games.

If your opinion is self-contradictory expect to be called out on it. This is the [H] forum not the comments section on whatever shit gaming site you came from. Something beyond parroting the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race talking points is generally preferable.

My opinion isn't contradictory at all, I'm repeating myself here but I will say it again; I'll bold it for you too, maybe you can understand easier that way; the map encouraged tactical gameplay I know you can turn off your 'voodoo see-through-walls vision' but the fact still remains, the map has been replaced with being able to see through the walls

If you can't grasp/understand why I have a problem with that, I don't have any more words for you...The last part of your post was hilarious though, it's cringeworthy how you're playing the 'This is [H], serious pc gaming business, 2DEEP4U' card, whilst trying to make out i'm playing any kind of 'glorious PC race' act.. haha.

Looks like it could be a fun game. Im not expecting it to be good so I can be surprised when it actually is.

I learned well before my first 50 days here that some people take the [H] label a little too serious.

That being said.... after watching the trailer, this is definitely NOT a Hitman game.

Doesn't look like it to me, either.

The following is going to read as incredibly cynical to some but bear with me since this is a game series I really care about and I'll explain myself at the end:

We should have known after this much time having elapsed since the last game what was going to happen: They were going to resurrect a name and an IPO that everyone knows and is popular and say "screw it" to anything that made it what it was and give the kiddies another watered down piece of mediocrity which is what I'm bracing myself for here. That's all there is to it.

Have the expectations at a realistic level. In this day and age we simply have to.

It doesn't matter what the property is or who the developers are. That's why I didn't have a coronary over Rage like some other people did.

I knew as soon as saw months worth of "console this, console that" from id to have my expecations lowered quite considerably and therefore I was able to go in and have a decent time with the game on its own merits.

Same thing is going to happen here. I see a game that might be good and I hope that it is but thus far has few if any "Wow that's Hitman!" hallmarks going for it.

Shitcanning Bateson and especially the heart and soul of Hitman in Jesper Kyd were the big warning flares fired into the air for me right off the bat. That sends a unmistakable message to me. I don't know about the rest of you.

I'll be pleasantly shocked when this comes out if I'm not still looking back over Contracts and Blood Money as probably the all time and forever heights of the entire series before it gets run into the ground and killed by this thing. Silent Assassin was awfully good, too, but those are my favorites.

I can only hope the game will be pretty good on its own merits.

^^
I know that reads as incredibly cynical but really: How many times have we seen that pattern and cycle by now?

Well, duh, it's not a Hitman game anymore. The Hitman we knew is dead. He's pretty much out there on his own now; not working for anyone. Do you honestly expect the game to play the same way? No, it can't; that would make no sense. He's on the run because he's been betrayed by the people he used to trust. Seems like a pretty natural progression of the series to me.

Some people just cannot accept change... Do you honestly want the same, stale Hitman that's been done over and over? This looks new and refreshing. It looks great, IMO.

:EDIT: This is a good read.
