Hey fellow gaming enthusiasts,

I have been enjoying PC gaming on my Asus Matrix 5870 Platinum for a few years now. I bought it off a very cool member here on the forum for a decent price at the time.

It has served me well and while I am sure I could still do great gaming with it, I am thinking about jumping back to the Green team. I used dual 8800GT's before getting into the 5870 series. My setup is in my sig and I game at 1080p, at least for now. The card runs most recent games at med-high settings. Its a great card with a lot of bells and whistles. And honestly I never used hardly any of it. I basically just did a mild OC and went to town with gaming.

I'm thinking of grabbing a EVGA 670FTW or SC. I was impressed with their 660 SC that I used in my ITX build. I may even pick up a 650ti for physx.

That being said, would it be worth my time to upgrade to a 670?

Anyways, I'm kind of rambling on here. Its late and I should get some rest...:D

Price checks aren't allowed outside of Gen Mayhem so not going to answer that but the 670 would be perfect for what you are asking for; however, it does depend on what games you are playing.

What games are you playing and or wanting to play?

Thanks for the heads up Climber. I have an idea of what to ask for now that I searched the sales forums. There are not many results but it will do.

Right now I play a variety of games....Some I have yet to purchase and or play. From the top of my head, Crysis 3, Just Cause 2, Hitman Absolution, Hawken, Batman games, Planetside 2, Formula 1 games, Sim City 5, Saints Row the Third, The Witcher 2, Dota 2, and pretty much any game in these genres. Future games I look forward to playing are Battlefield 4, Metro Last Light, GTA 5 (if that comes out for PC).

The 670 or 7950 will do wonders for you at 1080 resolution. What is your CPU clocked to? The higher the better for many of those games.

My CPU is OC'd to 3.3GHZ. Nothing too exciting. I know eventually I want to rebuild with a new CPU\Mobo\Ram combo. I might go mini ITX...my old stacker 830 still looks good, but Its time to update that case as well.

For your gaming needs at 1080p a 670 gtx will give you great high quality setting options in almost every game for at least 2 years, and will probably last long down the road after that as well in one of your backups.

Awesome, thanks for the input everyone. I think the 670 it is. I'm really going to miss my 5870 but it has served me well.
