So I'm having problems getting anything over 3.8 stable. I'm new to OCing the core series, so if someone can offer some advice, I would appreciate it.
Current settings:
BCLK: Tried anywhere from 185 - 205
Multi: Tried between 18 - 21
QPI(?): 32x
Memory: 6x (trying to keep this out of the equation until I get a stable CPU)
Vcore: 1.35 - 1.37v
VTT: 1.29v
PCH: 1.05 or 1.12v
VDIMM: 1.64v
Also turned off the 3 Intel features that adjust clock/voltages based on need (turbo, C3/C7? and something else?)
Board is a Gigabyte H55M-USB3. Its not the best, but I got it for $50, so I hoped I could make it work. What I think is possibly causing issues is my CPU voltage is all over when I stress test it, at least according to CPU-Z. If it is at 1.35v in the BIOS, it is 1.36 in CPU-Z, but when I stress it, it can go anywhere from 1.28v - 1.44v. This with Load Line Calibration disabled. If I enable it, it crashes every time when I start IBT, even if I back off to 3.4 GHz.
I tested the mobo with a 9x multi on the CPU and it was stable up to a BCLK of 215, so I think it should be fine with the range I'm using. Temps are not an issue at the moment, with the highest being lower 70s, but mostly in the 60s. I am hesitant to raise the Vcore any more due to the fluctuations reaching 1.44v
If anyone wants to chip in to help out the [H]orde, I would appreciate it.
