Just what it title says, I'm looking for the highest flow 120mm fan, that produces the least amount of noise (I know it's contradictory, but I'm just looking for the best combo). Also would be nice if it were low profile.

What do you guys recommend?
 
Low profile as in 12mm/slim fans?

The Scythe kaze jyuni's are the first 12mm fans that come to mind.

37.00 dBA / 45.47 CFM 2000 RPM (1.22CF/dB)
28.89 dBA / 38.05 CFM 1600 RPM (1.31CF/dB) ←These look the best then.
21.71 dBA / 24.03 CFM 1200 RPM (1.10CF/dB)
19.53 dBA / 19.40 CFM 800 RPM (0.99CF/dB)

Note that scythe tend to not deflate their noise ratings compared to other manafacturers. I think there are 800RPM models availible too. All of these are variable speed fans too, so you can set them at a lower speed and lower noise (and CFM) I have the 1200RPM models and at full speed they are silent when upright (slghtly more noisy when lain flat).

I'm running the german Noiseblocker PWM fans in my box - pretty good fans. If you don't want PWM, they make normal fans as well. VERY high quality fans - and quiet.

Aren't those are the fat (25mm) versions of the same thing? They are good, not gentle typhoons quiet, but reasonably so. Plus they are cheaper than GTs and push more air for more noise.
 
25mm thickness is fat for a 120mm fan now?:p

Why not the Kama Flow 2? Better than slipstream and still <$10.
 
Gentle Typhoons. You need static pressure for radiators, not high CFM. Gentle Typhoons have some of the highest static pressure and lowest DB. CFM is 1850 on the high end model(AP-15, not the new AP-29/30s) but its static pressure is great. Hard to find though, they are usually always sold out.

GT's have an 1850 RPM model, not CFM. I think the 1850 is around 80CFM.
As far as highest cfm to lowest db ratio. The best I've found are the Enermax Magma's. Their static pressure isn't amazing though(about average).
 
Wish Scythe would release there GT 2150 already, but overall for your H50 go with the GT 1850 beats the M12-P unless your running around 1000rpm on them, at 2000rpm they get pretty loud, don't forget to the buy Vibration Dampener for the GT fans lower the noise by a little bit. I have a H70 with 2 GT 1850 with dampener in my lian li v1020r and its pretty dam nice.

Thanks for the advise, but it looks like I'm going to get a nice set of headphones, and use my fan controller. So now I'm down for Quite-Loud ass hell, depending on the % I run the fans. While gaming Ill use headphones (my speakers suck anyway), and any other time I can just load the bios setting for a non-overclocked quiet machine. It's looking like Ill be going with the GT's, just have to find a good one. Looking for the model -15 (thats the end code, don't remember the rest). I think it's like 1850 rpm, although I was also looking at the strongest one they had (don't remember the MN) it looks like it's one basass, loud mofo, as long as it will be quite around 1250-1500rpm, and move like 150cfm at max rpm. I already have a fan controller now, so why not.

150 CFM range requires ~3000 RPM fans or higher. You will never see 150 CFM below 2000 RPM (for 120mm fans). In a push/pull configuration, CFM doesn't add, they remain the same. The only change is static pressure (which, in the case of radiators, add CFM, but not above rated CFM). 2000 RPM generally moves around 90 CFM or less.

The one you're looking for is AP-15. I think Scythe may have discontinued those, so they are a bit hard to find at the moment. The AP-14 model is around 1450 RPM (I think), and there was going to be a group buy of the 2150 RPM model at Overclock.net, but not sure what happened to it (some sort of disconnect and loss of communication between Overclock.net and suppliers). There are also 3000 and 4500 models, and I think there's also a 6000 RPM model. Gentle Typhoons undervolt really well, I believe some can spin at voltages around 4 v.
 
Thanks for the reply Tsumi, that NZXT fan controller is the same one I have, but I just have not got around to putting it in my system, how do you like it, and where the heck are the directions for adding temp ratios for the fans when in auto mode, or is it just predefined?
 
It works fine for my needs, although I wish it had the flexibility of rheostat controllers. The voltages don't go low enough in my opinion.

The digital touch panel works fine, it takes a little figuring out for all the controls. I think fan speed ratios are dependent on the max temperature you set before the alarm goes off, but I don't really know. I always run on manual mode, with everything down at 40% or off, usually (I run 1500-2000 RPM fans). I've had it for over a year now, hasn't given me any problems so far. Only when I'm stress testing/folding do I run things up to 100%. Even in gaming, I generally don't need to turn things up.

I spent two hours scouring Akihabara tonight looking for the AP-15's. Other than a handful of AP-13's there weren't any lower speed Gentle Typhoons in stock.

Went with an AP-29 for my rad and two S-FLEX SFF21Es for intake instead. I'll keep an eye out in Japan, but the stock of lower Gentle Tyhpoons is dwindling.

This is so true. I ended up going with Sidewinder to get some in. They are kind of pricey though. But with those and the Noiseblockers mentioned above, you get what you pay for and they are worth it.
