1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$400-500
I have amazon prime and some amazon gift cards, so I will favor amazon for minor price differences
but if I could save > $20 by going newegg, I will
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Orlando Florida USA
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Motherboard, RAM, SSD, processor cooler,
PSU possibly? mine is several years old, not sure if I should keep it or replace it. Hasn't given me any trouble so far.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire
Intel Core i5 QuadCore i54670K 3.4 GHz Desktop Processor Socket H3 LGA1150
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 OC REV2.0 1006MHZ 3GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 2xDVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Video Card
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 RC-932-KKN1-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower
Seagate Barracuda 3 TB HDD SATA 6 Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 7200 RPM 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST3000DM001
Samsung writemaster DVD burner
6) Will you be overclocking?
Light processor overclock
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
24" dell, 1920x1200
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Next 2-3 weeks
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
No real special requirements. I'd like to consider SLI as an option for the future (possibly going 1440 or 4k within this PC's lifetime)
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, Windows 8 Pro (thinking about a win7 'upgrade' though)

These are the parts I am thinking about buying:
$80
Crucial M500 120GB SATA 2.5-Inch 7mm
$35
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
$140 Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
$119 PNY 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My main stupid Noob questions are:

I read that the Asus motherboard were the only 1150 socket motherboards officially nvidia certified.
Not sure if that's true, or if I should go with a different board.
I'm totally overclock inexperienced, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for in a motherboard.

Is it worth spending the $25 on the Intel tuning plan just in case I let the smoke out of the processor? http://click.intel.com/tuningplan/purchase-a-plan

I'm also confused about non 1.5v RAM, I've read Intel recommends not using >1.5v with a haswell processor, is that true? How big of a concern is it?
If I just run the ram at 1.5v would it just operate at 1333 and be a little slower? I read you could disable XMP and it would just down volt the ram and be alright.

Go ahead and reuse it.

LOL that's total bullshit. As long as the manufacturer agrees to the $5 licensing fee per motherboard for SLI, that motherboard will state it has SLI support.

Read reviews on the motherboard and see what overclocks people are getting (if any).

Only if you think your luck is extremely bad.

Err on the side of caution and stick with RAM rated at 1.5V. That RAM you selected will run at 1.5V and DDR3 1600 RAM speeds.
