I don't fold much at home... but have access to a few proto servers at my work that I am able to fold on...
fold mainly on linux... I have a windows 8 box... but its bigadv is not too much better than regular smp on linux...

Random note... I am looking at freeing some ES chips I found on the scrap... will check their stepping in the morning... wondering if regular dual 1366 mobos will overclock much at all...
they are L5640s ... also have been keeping my eye out for some 4000 series opterons...

Regular dual 1366 motherboard will not overclock any amount worth mentioning. I think I got 3 MHz from SetFSB, but it really isn't worth messing with. If you want to overclock, you either need an SR-2 or an X58 board. There is a thread buried here somewhere on L5640 motherboard compatibility if you are interested.

where is a good place to get an sr2... the egg is out... anyone find a cheaper supplier?

much of my folding comes from xeons...2 6cores folding right now... each by themselves... on other systems I have dual 2.8ghz quads and dual 2.93s...

the 2.93 system is running a um newer version of windows that won't leave the lab anytime soon... got it running bigadv getting ~ 47kppd

the dual 2.8s are getting ~ 38kppd on a3 smp...
got a sandy running 3.2ghz that gets 15k ...
got dual optys a 1.7ghz (24cores) that get 30kppd
I think there is one more system dual 2ghz i7 no ht...
and thats bout it right now...

gonna have more up shortly...

they lost their mobo team to sapphire...
wonder what they will do for the 2011... at least its not ready for prime time in the near future... looks pretty though :p
