Here we go AGAIN - Is this a decent setup?

Why I Am Buying:
  • MSI K8T800 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754 CPU, Model "K8T NEO-FSR"
  • AMD Athlon 64 3400+, 1MB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor - Retail
  • Geil Value Series 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200
  • ASPIRE (Turbo Case)Black ATX Mid-Tower Case with 350W Power Supply, Model "ATXB5KLW/350"
  • Cooler Master CPU Cooler for Athlon64 & Opteron, Model "KK8-7I52A"
  • Western Digital Special Edition 80GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model WD800JB, OEM Drive Only

What I Have:
  • Two 40 GB 7200RPM Hard Drives (Maxtor and IBM)
  • 64 MB nVidia GeForce4 MX 440
  • 802.11g Wireless Network Card
  • Dell 17" E771a Monitor
  • Sound Blaster Live! 5.1

Any recommendations? I am considering taking off that hard drive (the 80 GB that I was going to make the main drive - would there be a performance difference if I do, since it has the extra 6 MB cache?) and getting a speaker system or a new greaphics card (I would love to get into gaming). Talk! ;)

sounds good to me ;)

If you are a gamer though i would upgrade the card too..

If I were you, I would spend some extra money on high quality RAM and a better video card.

Never skimp on RAM or the Power Supply. I've been burned too many times by that.

A new video card isn't a necessity, but it is not something I'd overlook.

the vid card will be holding you back when it comes to gaming... as for the ram - get quality modules if you're planing on ocing...

If I don't overclock - isn't that RAM good?

And about my PSU - the one in that case stinks?

Chances are it does, you will want to get an Enermax or a Antec, you'll pay more for it but it will be better in the long run.
