ok, so today when i booted up my comp, it says RAID ERROR PRESS F4 now to enter raid configuration utility. I open up my comp, and look at the cable, its no longer attached to the hard drive. Not only that, the plastic conector on the hard drive melted onto the cable. its an SATA drive. Will getting a new cable fix this, or do i need to get my hard drive fixed? This is infact the drive with windows on it, and I can't even use my own computer now! will a new cable work, or does that plastic piece on the hdd around the sata connecter need to be there? please respond soon!

Your hard drive MELTED onto the cable? Either your HD is bad or you have a much bigger problem....

no.... omg.... a piece of the hard drive melted and eventually ripped off, but the metal connecters are still there, and Im hoping that piece of plastic didnt do too much...
