So I got my 650W Corsair power supply in the mail the other day and I want to send in the MRI. However, I wanted to make sure it worked before I did this and unfortunately I won't be ordering the rest of my computer until later this week. So I just used an old desktop (HP) and plugged everything into it to make sure it worked...I pressed power and nothing happened.
In further inspecting, I realized the 24 pin plugs were slightly different. On my old PSU the "blank hole", the one with no metal prong inside, is on the bottom row 5 slots from the right. On my new PSU it is on the top row 5 slots from the right. Does this make a difference? The motherboard has metal prongs on all 24 pins so I figured it shouldnt matter but I wasn't sure.
Also, is it okay for me to, lets say attach the 4 pin plug of one psu to the motherboard and the 24 pin of the other psu to the motherboard and vice versa to find what the culprit is?
Thanks for you help in advance.
