Is it a HT P4.
If so then turn the HT on and makeuse of it.
If it is then you can run a standard console client one core and the GPU client on the other.
Because one core is only needed to poll the client and not crunch numbers, it the only real case where HT works correctly with Folding.
Both clients will run at almost full speed.
Ps. The client is not out yet for the 3850, so if possible keep the 1950 in there.

My P4 is a Northwood but I can't seem to get HT enabled. I looked everywhere in the BIOS and there doesn't appear to be a setting that I can see. The thing is, it's a brand new motherboard made by Foxconn and supports all the recent P4 processors including Northwood and Prescott. HT should be supported, but I can't seem to get it working for the life of me.Is it a HT P4.

I remember older motherboards having this setting, however mine doesn't seem to have one. None that I can easily recognize. Maybe I need a BIOS update, IDK, but as it is ATM I can't find it anywhere. The board is a recent model, relatively speaking.In bios under CPU Settings I have a enable/disable option for hyper threading on my Asus PC800Deluxe.

I thought you were producing around 700PPD from the GPU client alone? Did it slow down when you installed the regular client?Ok last night I worked on my P4 System and here is the results:

Combo:
GPU: 597
CPU: 182
Total: 779ppd
So a 98ppd increase, not great, but figuring regardless it was going to pull X watts, I might as well eek out the ppd.

From the looks of it, it's only 79PPD extra though. Maybe I'm fretting for not getting HT enabled in my system over a very small loss in PPD. I wasn't expecting the GPU client to drop that much. You still have the advantage even with the GPU client running alone. I still can't get over 600PPD with my system without risking an early unit end.Yes, it slowed it down, as it says above 681 by itself, it drops to 597 with the cpu client running. So while I lose some on the gpu I pick it up on the CPU and some.

I am contemplating shutting the system down later this year when the weather warms up, or swapping out the parts in the box with newer ones. Alternatively, maybe I should just wait for the Stanford to release a new client with support for the 3000-series cards and get an AGP HD3850. My current card is a disappointment and a good thing the price was reasonable at the time.
You mean in client setup?You could try configing the GPU to the "low" setting, not "idle".
It may give you a few more PpD without affecting how the computer runs.
