Idle temps don't really mean much with Intel CPUs since the thermal registers are designed solely to be accurate in their upper ranges. In short, Intel doesn't care if a Q6600 or i7 920 is running at 40C idle or 60C idle as long as the load temps stay under the danger values, so they didn't waste time or money designing something that handles idle temps. The lower the temp of the CPU, the less accurate the reading is.
So now that I am on water I need some help trying to get my CPU OC'd higher.
Currently at 3.6 runn 20x180 @1.3125v
I tried 20x200 @1.33 and could almost get into windows but it would restart. Upping the voltage made it not boot at all. 19x220 would not boot at all either.
