Help with first build

Ya, I did. But I thought of it more like that this site gives me all this for free, so I might as well give back where I can.

I could have used $15......LOL! j/k!

Have you decided on what parts you're gonna get? Or do you still have some more questions?

Oh and if you haven't already, make a new thread in General Mayhem with the title "I'm new here". :D

I haven't made any decisions yet, because I currently lack funds. I'm going to take my time on this one to make sure I don't do what I usually do, rush into something and buy a bunch of stuff that I can afford but ultimately regret. My only questions at this point is what brands people have used and loved, or have used and wished they never had...

I would suggest making a new post when you have cash on hand. Since what is instock at the time in two months time, my suggestions could change completely.

Also you should read the user reviews on newegg for the parts, anyone makes a suggestion on.

I see what you're saying, but what I would like to do is purchase parts here and there as time goes on to spread out the cost. I guess my question is what is the smartest order in which to buy pc components over time?

Overtime this order would be best. If you are planning to buy piece by piece.

Case
Optical/Hard Drives
RAM
Motherboard/CPU
Video Card.

How long will this period of time be?

Also, the parts with the most volatile pricing (meaning that prices can fluctuate or drop pretty quickly) are RAM and the video card. Optical drive and case prices are relatively stable outside of the occasional awesome deal for the case. The prices for hard drives, CPU and mobo do drop but slowly over time. However there are occasional deals on hard drives.
