I have a user who did a hard shut down, and afterwards their SSD was no longer detected. Crucial told me to power cycle the drive and it would likely work again.

Instructions here:

I tried doing that multiple times with no luck. I even left it plugged in all night. I was just hoping someone here had experienced this and had some suggestions.

Also, do you know if it has the latest firmware?

Earlier firmwares had a power on hours bug that would render it unusable after it hit the threshold. You can try updating firmware to see if it comes back too.

If it is that too-many-hours issue with the firmware, you can boot from a different drive, then after the OS is finished booting, plug in your M4 and try the update. The OS hopefully should see the drive allowing the update to take place.

Firmware version is 010G. When I say not detected, I mean by the bios, connected via USB, or any other way I try. So I certainly can't update the firmware at this point.
