Help with CPU in new rig

they are slightly different than reg i7, ie have 2x qpi links and faster qpi speed, but should work fine on any x58 mainboard. 60watts, should run fairly cool. these have been around for 8 or 9 months, suprised you dont see more of them. yes, good price.

I can't think of any reason why a person would want to spend $400 bucks to buy an L5520 when you can get an i7 920 Retail box CPU for $280 at Newegg which includes free shipping. With a default 20X multiplier vs only 17 for the L5520, the i7-920 will be the better performer whether you decide to over clock or not. It's always nice to be the only one on your block with a unique processor but I think you'd be wise to pass on this one. Paying more for less performance doesn't make any sense.
