Help With Builind Custom PC

Well, I want to build an Intel rig, but I do not know much about Intel. I have previously used AMD.

So, I will have around $1000 to spend.

Any recommendations?

I need a lot of help on this one.

Sigh... Not much we can do to help with that amount of information.

1. What is the purpose of the PC? Gaming, AutoCAD, Photo Editing, Video Editing, Porn Watching, etc...

2. What parts do you already have? Do you need a monitor? If so, what size are you looking for? Do you need a case?

Let's start with that. Then we can actually give you some useful information.

Sorry for the lack of information, I was in a hurry.

Anyways, I am looking to buy make this PC for gaming and Video editing.

I also need everything a PC needs, other than a monitor. I have that covered.

Did you read the link flipflopsnowman posted? His main point was to do some research using the forum and create a list of parts. Then, ask for suggestions on what to tweak. It's pretty rude to just say... "Build me a PC!". At least make an effort first. Then, we can help tweak it. Also, we can't suggest a GPU if we don't know what monitor you have. I'll ask again... What size? What is the native res? Help us help you.

If people followed it, the "help me!!! I've got $1000 to spend" threads would end. There is a lot to be learned, for sure, from participating in helping people build PCs but the rehashing of the same thread over and over is frustrating.

I have no problem with the "I've been working on this for weeks, any final reccomendations?" or "I already bought this stuff what do you think?" but by then the people have done most of the legwork. I don't think it should be the job of [H]ard users to do all the work or to perform a simple search of the forum for the same exact post.

DS3 isn't a good choice if you're want the ability to upgrade to Intel's new Yorkfield and Wolfdale CPUs which the DS3 does not have.

Eh, some people like piecing together parts for anyone who asks... I know I used to. But alas, /me tired. Anyhow, go with RoBo's list as a starting point, then ask whatever questions you have (eg. can I get away with a cheaper GPU? should I spend more on the CPU? etc). Also, other build threads have a lot of info in them as well.

Yes your thread is very freakin' useful. See if you can get a moderator to sticky it. Say something along the lines of "it'll foster more intelligent forum goers" or something like that.
