1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, COD MW2, Star Craft 2, FFXIV, Other Directx 11 games.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
~$650 shipping included no tax i live in Oregon.
3) Where do you live?
Oregon
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Please be very specific.
CPU, RAM, MOBO, PSU, Case, Video Card. I prefer Geforce cards because of their opensource usability. I will be running a dual boot of windows and Ubuntu.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
2 500 gig seagate harddrives, 2 dvd rw drives.
6) Will you be overclocking?
no
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
1080p Television
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Within a month or so
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Nothing special ESATA port would be nice.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
No I dont

Just building something i can use on upcoming games. Any help would be appriciated. thanks.

I agree with lt_shiro. Particularly, you'd want at least an HD5850 if you want decent framerates in most games on your 1080p monitor. But as you know, the price of an HD5850 would eat up most of your budget.

Do you live near a Micro Center or a Fry's?

up the budget to 800-850 and some decent options will open up- pretty scary with a 650 budget when you're looking toward DirectX 11

Ok, I can afford around 850 but that would be around top dollar. What suggestions do you have? I live by a Frys.

How old are the seagate drives?

This should get you started:
AMD Phenom II X4 955
AMD 770TA board
4GB DDR3-1600 G.Skill
Antec Neo Eco 620W
GTX470

I don't see any combos worth getting at Fry's this week, sorry. Last week they had the 955 + 890GX board for $170. I'm selling a couple of those CPUs NIB, if you're interested. ;)

I like the looks of that one. REALLY powerful! What sort of case would you recommend and would i need any additional cooling?

Some recommendations:
$50 - Cooler Master Elite 335 RC-335-KKN1-GP ATX Case
$50 - Thermaltake WingRS 201 VJ60001N2Z ATX Case
$60 - Antec 300 ATX Case
$70 - Cooler Master RC-590-KKN1-GP ATX Case
$80 - Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP ATX Case
$90 - Cooler Master HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP ATX Case
$100 - Lian Li PC-7B Plus II ATX Case
$100 - Lian Li Lancool PC-K7B ATX Case
$110 - Lian Li PC-E8B ATX Case
$110 - Lian Li PC-7FN ATX Case

5850 is better bang for the buck. 16% cheaper but only around 5% less powerful.

Save 30$ on this combo on newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.365678

Note that the OP mentioned that he "prefer Geforce cards because of their opensource usability. I will be running a dual boot of windows and Ubuntu." Haven't kept up on ATI and Nvidia Linux drives lately but from a historical perspective, nvidia's Linux drivers have usually been more featured packed, stable, and offered good performance comparable to their Windows drivers.
