If the LG 49ub850V is the same as 49ub8500, then it will do 4:4:4/60 on HDMI port 3 using hdmi 2.0. The samsung will not.

Samsung I believe you have to go to the 8550 series to get 4:4:4.

That set isn't guaranteed to have 4:4:4, Samsung switched chipsets a few months ago to save on costs. Older models will have it, so you'll have to buy used most likely.

HU9000 however is a safe buy, way out of the OP's budget though.

Personally, I'd wait to see what the 2015 sets bring, they're like two months away at this point.

You might as well get a 1080p oled lg and play your games on max settings which will yield far greater picture quality than playing games on mid settings on a IPS with gray blacks.
You also won't need to upgrade your gpu setup every year. :D

Can you provide a link to a 1080p lg OLED?

I think any OLED if out of OP's budget unless he wants to spend $3k (maybe couple hundred cheaper if on sale). Plus the early LG's had terrible input lag. Not sure about the new ones. It would be best to wait for the new 2015 TVs unless he has a microcenter coupon to get the 55ub8500 for only $880 but since he mentioned the -V model, I'm assuming he is in Europe.

This.

Wait for Christmas time 2015. You'll have a much greater selection and much better pricing. Affordable 4K TV's are on the market now and by Christmas they will be not only more affordable but also better quality sets.

OLED are really going to be out of the OP's price range for a long time. This Christmas it'll be at least $3k for a 4K OLED. Christmas 2016 I bet you'll be able to get one at $1.5K.

Right now LG is the only OLED game in town. Sony shuddered its OLED factory. Samsung is very , very likely to start pushing out OLED (in full force) 4K by 2016 because it will not let LG own that market. After that others will follow. But I wouldn't expect a "budget" OLED because LG already set ALL 2015 OLED's around Christmas time will be 4K only so 1080p OLED will have a short life span.

If you want my advise OP just wait til at least Christmas this year. Right now current 4K sets are a little premature. They need time to "cook" a bit more.

I have the money now 1000 and from what ive read the lg 49ub850v or the Samsung 55 inch hu7200 curved tv seems pretty good but not sure on lag and 4.4.4 chroma

I believe the best you can do for a 4k 4:4:4 gaming screen right now is Panasonic's AX800 series. They include both displayport and hdmi 2.0 inputs that will handle 4:4:4 @ 60Hz so you don't HAVE to have a GTX 900 series card like other TVs. Input lag has been measured around 37ms which is the best of any 4k TV that I'm aware of. I saw one right next to an HU8550 and liked it better. They are expensive however, the 58" version is $2k right now and the 65" version is $2.5k. It might be worth saving up for as even 37ms is not ideal for gaming and anything higher can be a deal breaker for some. Good luck!

not the best I am sure but from what I have seen it is the lowest input lag of any 4k set. haven't looked in to the 4:4:4 on this set though

There is another 4K HDTV that must be considered, as it features the lowest recorded input lag in a 4K display. I haven’t tested this HDTV personally, but there is enough evidence submitted to me by readers that a specific VIZIO model, the VIZIO P552ui-B2, features an excellent average input lag rating of 18ms under “Game” mode, using the HDMI 5 input. A video posted by AVSForum user buzzard767 documents the latency when these conditions are met, which greatly exceeds any other 4K set on the market. This HDTV is also capable of accepting a native 1080p@120hz signal from a PC under the HDMI 5 input, which VIZIO dubs as “High Velocity” mode. VIZIO is currently the only manufacturer on the market that officially support native 120hz input via HDMI, which does wonders for PC gamers and reducing input lag. Some other HDTVs also have this capability, though it requires unofficial workarounds and tweaks to get it working. If you must have a 4K HDTV with the lowest possible input lag, then the VIZIO P552ui-B2 is currently the only 4K HDTV on the market that can offer it. However after looking around it seems as if everyone it testing the input lag under 1080p not 4k... so not sure if it would be the same or not
