Had to take all the components out of a case today, when i put them all back in the pc wont start. There wasnt any sign of power led's or anything.
Jump started the psu with nothing connected and it powered up. Next step in debug was just connecting the main cable to the mobo, psu and cpu powered up with cpu fan at 100%. When I connected the aux cpu 4-pin connecter nothing happened!

Then I connected the gpu and hdd without the cpu 4pin connector, system powered up into same state, 100% fan load but wont post.

whats going on?

nothing happens when the cpu 4pin connector is attached

And I just started farcry2, mad to play it!!!!

Might be a short somewhere inside the case. Look for a loose screw, wire, connection, etc. Also did you make sure to plug in the power for the video card if it needed it?

im embarrased to show the fix to this,

the cpu power plug was orientated the wrong way, even though it is a keyed connector it still manage to fit the wrong way without any resistance,

just goes to prove no matter how long u work on computers you can always make a rookie mistake

lol great one.
Fortunately you suffered no damage and gave us another thing to be wary of.
