Awhile back I bought an open-box 5770 and while it works well in general (oc's well, performs like it should, etc.) it sometimes freezes up my comp. Ran it in crossfire for a bit with a new one and it had the same issue. Now that I've taken it out I'm not having any stability issues though. I've tried underclocking but my comp will still freeze with this card occasionally.

So I'd like to rma it but can't get through amd's rma process.

First I go here:

Fill out all my info, but at the bottom no recent ATI cards are listed, which is weird, so I just selected "NOT SURE". Then I type in my S/N, as well as the product number: 102C0100200 000001. I've tried a few different combinations(elsewhere on the card it's listed as ATI-102-C01002(B) and 7120284000G 937KAA). No matter what I enter I keep getting "The Product Part Number is not correct".

Am I using an outdated webpage perhaps?
 
What brand is your 5770? You will need to contact them for warranty information.:D

Did you register it (the card) with the manufacturer when you received it?

I'm assuming your computer runs fine without that particular card in it?
 
That's what has me confused. It's a reference copy and shows no signs of any other manufacturer on it.

I didn't register when I bought it(so prolly fucked...)

Computer runs fine with the new 5770(also replaced the psu, but it still crashes with the old 5770).

where'd you buy an open-box 5770. if it's oem, then you're screwed.

you should have sticker on it somewhere that has a P/N or S/N on it,

you will need that at the very least to be able to identify it for warranty (this won't be on your box, it has to be on your card).

just look for any sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers on it.
 
Right, I found the P/N and S/N sticker and typed that in. No luck. I assumed ATI produced the reference cards, but is that not the case? Could explain why no cards since the 2xxx series are listed on their website.

Post pics of the card and a copy of the receipt

Because ATI/AMD stopped selling-warranty of cards then.
Only board partners sell the cards now and warranty them.

your OEM card is most likely a Sapphire branded card, but you need to find the receipt.:eek:
 
Ah, ok, I'll try Sapphire's website. I bought it in a market here. If I have to show a receipt I'm prolly fucked(I got one but most likely threw it away months ago. Plus it'd be in Korean).

Download GPU-Z 5.3 and RBE 1.28. Run GPU-Z and click the little icon at the end of the "Bios Version" line. Save the bios to your desktop. Now run RBE1.28 as administrator. Load the bios file from your desktop. It should say in there what brand card it is. At the very least it will have the manufacturers reference number. Then you can go from there.
