I'm stuck with my PC not being able to POST/Boot or do anything more than a black screen or 4 beeps when I hit the power button.

I first tried to upgrade my video card from a 8600gt to a 9800gtx+ and when I plugged in the new 9800 all I would get was one beep followed by 3 consecutive short beeps. The hard drive would also sound like it's trying boot and attempted several times.

After that I tried changing out the PSU with a new one in case mine didn't have enough juice. But that turned out not to be the case as I still go the same error.

So now I put the PC back together the way it originally was and I get nothing but a blank screen except for one time when I got my Bios splash screen but it remained there and didn't boot any further.

So now I'm clueless as to what the hell is going on and what to do about it.

Thanks.

Also these are my specs if it helps any

Intel E6600
Asus P5NE-SLI
4GB Mushkin HP2-6400
EVGA Nvidia 8600GT 256 MB
Hitachi Desktar 320GB
550w PSU

Take everything out of the case.

Put the mobo, cpu, HSF and 1 stick of ram in the first slot and try to power on OUTSIDE of the case, see what happens.

Try reseating your video card. If that doesn't work then try reseating your memory. Another person had a similiar problem...one beep followed by 3 beeps...just the other day. He posted it here and in another forum here and that's what everyone told him to do. Don't know if it worked for him or not though.

Three beeps, that is defintely your RAM. Try what MightyDiomed suggested, one stick at a time, and if you still get that beep you may be looking at having to purchase a whole new RAM kit. One beep is your video, FYI...
