So, I built a new box a week or two ago, and it's been pretty fantastic so far, except I have been having the problem stated in the title. If I even so much as touch the side of the case with a finger or USB drive or anything, it shuts off, and I don't know why. It's not like I touch my case a lot or anything, but I'll accidentally brush it a couple times a day, when when I'm in the middle of something, it annoys me. Why is it doing this?

Thanks!

Could be a static/grounding issue. What's the spec of your PC? What case?

Look for any loose screws, wires, cables, standoffs, washers, etc.

I would do like Danny Bui said. What your saying sounds to me like you've got something touching the case that shouldn't be. Like your touching the case is causing your psu to short out and shut down. Personally I would strip everything out and then put everything back in making sure no wires are pinched anywhere and there are no nicks in any cables. I'm no expert in this matter, but this is what I would do anyways.

Having a screw get trapped between the back of the motherboard and the case inside sucks.

It's best to re-assemble everything from scratch. I know it's tedious but that's the only way.

Also check that your outlet is properly grounded. I had the same issue with a PC at an old apartment. Turned out that the landlord had updated the wall plates to accept 3 prong grounded plugs, but had not updated the wiring so none of the outlets were actually grounded. Static buildup from walking across the room or just rolling back and forth on my chair would cause my PC to shutdown when I touched it. Many new power strips will have an additional lite on them to let you know if you are plugged into a grounded outlet.

additionally, I think you need to pull the motherboard up, count the standoffs and make sure you have not installed any that are not being used.
