Help!?! PC Won't Boot

Hi Guys Me Again,

I'm having a dilemma.. I finally got the new power supply (OCZ GameXstream 700w).

Plugged everything but it won't boot up, everything powers correctly i think. But it will not come up on screen.

Spec:

Intel pentium d 3.0ghz
MSI p965 mobo
4gb 667mhz ddr2
ATI 4870 512mb
160gb HD
DVDRW
Creative Xfi Soundcard

Any ideas guys? I can't figure it out, I'm going to do a reset on the bios quickly if that works i'll let you know other than that suggestions please asap i don't wanna run down the shop to get a new mobo :'(

Reset bios and take out the battery of the mobo for 10 mins to 7 hrs.
Then try. If that does not work, it seems like your mobo is shot.
 
Reset didn't work but I'll take battery out for 30 minutes, if no luck I'm running to maplin or pc world...
 
Unplug all non-essential parts like the sound card, DVDRW, and all but 1 RAM stick. If you have a floppy drive or a media card reader, disconnect them too. If that doesn't help, try switching the RAM sticks one at a time.
 
Also reassemble the PC outside of the case with the motherboard on the motherboard,. Use a screw driver to jump or connect the two power pins to start the PC. If you get video then, then something inside the case was shorting the motherboard. Look for a loose screw, wire, cable, standoff, etc.
 
It booted up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo Problem Solved:

CMOS Battery out for 2 hours, cleared and working, I'll drink to that! :D

whoa whoa i am new to this cmos and bios stuff how did taking the battery out help at all?? i think the bios battery on my laptop needs replcaement any tips for me? cuz every time the battery and AC adapter is unplugged the time goes back to 2003 O_O when it was made i assume any suggestions?

In the OP's case, there was (likely) a bad setting somewhere in the BIOS. Taking out/replacing the CMOS battery caused the BIOS to reset to its default settings -- which removed the bad settings and (obviously) fixed the OP's problem.

In your case, you may have to replace the CMOS battery altogether. (I believe that the CMOS on most notebook motherboards use the same CR2032 batter that desktop motherboards use, though I'm not 100% certain.) If your laptop is still within its warranty period, send it back to the manufacturer and explain that the laptop keeps resetting itself within the BIOS every time that you unplug it. If the warranty has expired, though, you'll need to unscrew the bottom cover off the laptop, find the CMOS battery, and replace it. (I suggest printing off portions of your laptop's service manual, if you could find it, so you know what to do and where to go. Follow its instructions carefully, as it is specifically designed for the laptop that you have.)
