Help! Pc rebooted during gaming, wont post

Hey guys i was playing l4d2 and my pc abruptly crashed, now it wont boot and the fans spin and spin fast. I tried unplugging my video card and the computer then spins up normal again, but i dont have a spare card to test right now.

So what do u guys think? Psu? Video card? What should i try replacing first?

Ocz modstream 700 w psu btw, rest of specs in sig. Ive also unplugged unneccesary drives, etc

Edit - the red led on the corner of the 6970 is on when i run the system with the card seated but unpowered

Edit 2 - the led on the mobo has no code either and does not beep on boot

Did you make sure to fully connect all the power plugs to the video card?

The GPU would be my first choice to replace or get a spare for.
 
The system was running fine before - i dont think its a gpu issue and am going towards the motherboard being dead now

EDIT - however i am going to go pickup a cheapy vid card @ frys after work tonight and test that out
