Hey, all.

My girlfriend's computer is running the specified hardware, and it is starting to lag behind. I am wondering what exactly I should be going for here. I am guessing I will need to buy a new CPU cooler, but not sure what is the best bang for buck. I am looking to increase speed without spending too much money. I am also hoping for this OC to be as "safe" as possible. Shouldn't be too much of a need to stretch it to the limit.

So, what do you all recommend?

Thanks!

Just raise the MCH voltage +.1 set Vcore to 1.325 and run the FSB up in 10MHz jumps until it will not boot , back off 15MHz and there you are. Make sure memory mulitplier stays at 2.0 while you do it. Vdimm set to 1.9V. After you see where the cpu will go, pick a memory mulitplier that will run the memory close to its rated speed.

More than you ever wanted to know about OCing a Gigabyte P965 board:
