Help me set up DS3L with e8400.

So I ran CPUz recently and it said the cpu was running at 2GHz even while UNDER LOAD. So I turned off EIST in bios and now it changes like its supposed to but now it seems the performance isnt as good. I dont know what im doing, what should all the settings be for this thing to work right?
 
i assumed you updated the bios? the f8a and f8b bios specifically address x3110 and e8400 cpu. also theres 3 options in the bios for speed step. c1e and thermal something and then eist. disable c1e and eist. hope that helps.
 
Yes I have f8a installed. I saw those 3 options and right now just EIST is disabled. Youre saying disable c1e also? Will that not cause the cpu to downclock when idle?
 
@ earl grey: please take a look at the GA-P35-DS3L Thread, that's the most informative for our mobo's.
There are some users at pretty high clocks with an e8400, and if I remember right, the latest F8b BIOS brings better control for the multipliers. ;)
