Hello,

I am looking to build a new rig soon, mainly to play BF3 and Diablo 3 on.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Gaming, Movies Browsing, Studying and Listening to Music

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

800$ not including parts I have already..

3) Where do you live?

California

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.

Motherboard, Sound Card PSU RAM CPU COOLER.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.

Brand New Parts I currently have.
2600k cpu
ocz vertex 3 120gb SSD
Corsair XMS3 8GB Ram 4 x2GB sticks 1600mhz (selling this to buy matching colored ram for mobo)
WD Black 1.5 Terabyte for storage
VisionTek 6970 GPU
Corsair H50 CPU Cooler(not sure if I should go with something else)

6) Will you be overclocking?

yes

7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?

Switch between a westinghouse 37inch and x2 Dell U2311H

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?

now/within this week

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.

USB 3.0 and Newest Sata interface, no need for SLI

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Yes, win7 ult 64 bit

My current setup is currently

Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 Motherboard
Phenom II X4 965 CPU
Radeon 5870
4GB GSkill RAM
80GB Intel X-25 SSD
500B WD Storage Drive (will be reusing)
Creative Xi-Fi Gamer Sound Card that died a few weeks ago
Antec 550 PSU
CM Scout Case

I want a bad ass system to play Diablo 3 and BF3. Basically want to upgrade to the latest and greatest to tide me over for a while.

I am going with the corsair 800D case, i think that case is in a class of its own and I want a full tower. There are alot of used ones on craigslist I am going to try and pick up.

I need recommendations on some PSU's with this setup, I have had good luck with corsair ones in the past.

I am torn between these two motherboards

ASRock Fatal1ty

Asus Maximus IV

Also some matching sets of RAM, don't really think I need anything over 8GB.

Should I ditch the older Corsair H50 and go with something else?

Going to pickup an asus sound card, something with a headphone amp to power my HD595's

Any input/recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Geez, you're one of those people. :D

I recommend this PSU since it matches your planned color scheme:
$140 - Antec High Current Pro HCP-750 750W Modular PSU
The AsRock is ridiculously overpriced for a mobo that only has a 1-2 year warranty. The Asus is a good mobo but overpriced IMO for a mATX motherboard.

I recommend this RAM:
$48 - G.Skill Ripjaws Series F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM

Should I ditch the older Corsair H50 and go with something else?
Keep it.

If you can return that OCZ SSD, I recommend doing so. It's got a Sandforce based controller which has known BSOD issues with Windows, it's also from a company with poor customer support in the recent past. Therefore, even if they charge you a 10 - 15% restocking fee, it's worth it IMHO to go with a better drive.

I recommend the Crucial M4 or Intel 510 series SSDs, with the former being the cheaper alternative but still a solid good drive from a good company.
