Help me configure a system ($500)

First: I live in CANADA. All parts will either be purchased from Anitec or NCIX, as both are Local to me; no shipping charges.

I have $500 Canadian.

What I have now that I can re-use:
-PSU
-Case
-CPU heatsink (Scythe Infinity)
-DVD Drive
-Video card

What I will need:
-CPU
-Motherboard
-Ram
-Hard drive

What I'm thinking about:

Intel Core2duo E4300 - $130

Buffalo Firestix PC6400 (D9GMH) - $129
OCZ Platinum XTC PC1066 - $169 ($40 MIR, but I don't ever believe in those)
Corsair XMS2 PC5400 - $80
G.Skill 'NQ' PC6400 - $119

Asus P5K - $159
Asus P5B-Plus - $153
Asus P5N-E - $159
DFI Infinity 965 - $178

I don't know about hard drives, but I'm thinking 250gb Sata II; it Must be SATA / SATAII. It needs to have the OS, and that's about it. I already have a 160 and 300 for data.

I'm thinking $500 including 13% of tax, and if need be, shipping.

Anyway, is there a reason why you can't reuse your other hard drives for the OS?

Oh and with the E4300 9x multiplier, you can get away with using cheap DDR2 667 or DDR2 800 RAM for a decent overclock. No need to buy high end RAM. So if possible, look around for cheaper RAM.

Can't reuse the other drives, too much data to move around, and they're LOUD when they're spinning.

Here's what I'm thinking at the moment:

Asus P5B-Plus
C2D E4300
Seagate 320gb 7200.10

Total: $450.93. x.13 for tax = $58.62 in tax. == $509.55

Other than the mobo recommendation, your build list looks good to me. Go for it.

Alright, time to pick between boards:

P5B-Plus (965)
P5B-E (965)
P5N-E (650i)
P5K (P35)
DS3 (965

Such a hard choice.

The P5B-Plus and P5B-E are the same, except the Plus uses solid caps, and a black pcb instead of yellow.
P5N-E is 650i, and has 2 ide's
P5K is p35, overclocks Great, but the ide is in a terrible place.
DS3, It overclocks well, but I don't like the position of the IDE too much. Uses solid caps.

P5B Deluxe

For $330 usd + shipping

320gb 7200.10 Seagate (from n00btard)
