Hiya folks,
im at a loss i really am at a loss. I'm trying to route my xbox through my computer, which as stated the mb is a dfi nf4 dr, i got the network connectin working fine. now my problem is the audio, i have the red rca cable from the xbox going to the spdif/in (the red connector on the mb) now what i cannot do is get the goddamn thing to spit out to anything else i have a pair of headphones in my computers green outlet: in the nv mixer panel i have the choices for input of stereo mix, mono mix, aux, cd audio, mic, spdif, mic2
for my output is the standard master, wave, synth cd line auc mix and spdif, everything is unmuted in output and maxed volume, the input i've gone through every selection and no sound, i moved the jumper from realtek wahtever it is to nf4 behind the spdif ports and nothing, anyone have any idea?

The DAC in the codec on your board is worse then the DAC in the Xbox so I have wonder what you are hoping to accomplish here.

i'm just trying to get my xbox sound to come out of my computer headphones? i care less about quality of sound

have you enabled digital i/o under advanced options under the speaker icon?

well i went to the box i didn't see anything spcial for digital input other then under the input box which is enabled, i dont see anything under the speaker icons

hey.. could th eproblem be the spdif is digital and the xbox is not? i dunno if the xbox is one or the other but...

that's what i'm thinking. does the xbox have spdif out? and does the realtek on dfi have spdif in? my mb only has spdif out and analog in.

digital out has to go to digital in = spdif
analog out goes in analog in(line in)

Oh..... must have not read the thread right.. You are trying to go from the xbox into your PC's spdif? If so.. I think the xbox only has "optical" digital. The red connector is just one side of the analog outs. Which xbox adapter do you have? I don't think they have one with coax digital.

yea i was plugging my rca analog cable into a digital spdif in.. which mean sim gona hafta get an rca to 3.5mm mini jack converter to make this work

no. you cannot connect an analog signal to a digital input. it won't work.

now what might work:
use your xbox analog out - red(left channel)and white(right channel) rca connections to 3.5mm mini jack converter to analog in(line in) on your mb.
