I have been planning to do a Hello Kitty PC case mod for a while, I finally found the case that will be my subject. It is an older enlight case. I fired up MS Paint and have been doodling out some designs for my project.

The case will be pink accented with a purple chassis, and a few other parts.
I plan to have case lighting done in purple, the backlit logos will be setup to slowly change colors (purple, pink, yellow, blue, and exc) there will be more details added but these are the main ones. The gaint Hello Kitty head will be a window cut in that shape, and detals painted onto it. Also I will build a unit to play some of the lyrics from one of the English Hello Kitty theme song every time the machine is started/restarted, or someone pushes a button. "Hello Kitty it's a beautiful day, Hello Kitty are you ready to play?" Note: I'll have a switch to turn this feature off. lol I'll also have a matching keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

I may change some of the major details as time goes on.

The right side is a work in progress as I'm debating to either paint Hello Kitty and friends, or do something else with it.


Any comments? Suggestions? (please be constructive with them, and not negative)
 
I just hope noone is blinded by the pinkness. o.o It is a heck of a lot brighter on a dark background.
 
I had to put on my welding mask due to the radiance of your plan. Very nice, keep it up!
 
I've seen the mod zap did already from googling, its nice but too plain for my taste. :p
 
Make sure you find the most obnoxiously loud pinkish paint on this planet. :cool:
 
If I had a computer with that case... I would take it to a Lan Party and show that I have no fear lol...
 
Personally, I'm going to pretend I never saw this thread.

However, if that's what you want, I say go for it. Looks like you have a good plan underway and it should turn out great :D
 
I built about 4-5 systems on that Enlight chassis and they're *all* still great systems. Only one PS failure out of them all.

BTW - Post some pix as you complete each step - oh, and post some of the computer too! ;)

Of course, I'm currently waiting on the case and it may be a while before I start as I haven't got the time yet.
 
i forsee a my littel kitty logo pinted right over the power button , power button centered over it's cute winking left eye... that way it looks like you got it in the eye every time you turn it on :jab:

I love the idea, but I suggest you wear dark sunglasses while spray painting :)

Awesome! It may be hello kitty, but hey, that pwns! Its like...you kick the other guys ass at a LAN and you open up the pc, and WHIZZAM! Theres like a P3 inside, lol. Thats what im going to do with my next idea, the P3 Pwntizzle :D
 
I like the idea (Liked Zap's too - not that I would want it for me, I just think he did a good job) :)
You might want to look into a beefer dremel though. I had to recharge my cordless twice to do an 80mm fan cutout in a steel case :rolleyes: (Now it's all XPR baby :D)
 
well since my fiance and I broke up I now have to use an old corded dremel, no biggie as its free but I have to tear it apart and clean the whole thing. I am also now having to look for a new case as she had the case..


Any suggestions on a new case?
 
Maybe Antecs, look around newegg, they have some pretty good cheap cases that are pretty sturdy and nice modding cases.

Saw it in your sig in the car forum, and just had to see the hello kitty case. It's so adorable, you can't stop now. It's easy. I painted my case once when I was in high school. It took no time at all, and made me feel productive, creative and tallented all in one. Give it a shot, you'll like it.

Yeah out of budget lol I'm trying to find a waterblock on the cheap right now as its needed more then a flashy case.. On the bright side my machine has a new Opty 148 which will be the last upgrade for this year (hopefully) besides this mod.
 
OMG. No offence to anyone but i've never seen so much support for such a lame - seen it all before - case mod idea.. :eek:

Hmm. I haven't seen anyone here willingly want a hot pink PC for themself, nor a Hello Kitty one, same goes for most of the projects I've seen. They all have been for someones girlfriend or something, not for themselves.

There *was* that guy who made a "My Little Pony" case mod for PAX a few months ago. Got Gabe and Tycho to autograph it for him.

 
Heh, my 8yo daughter saw me looking at the thread and asked "Dad, can we do a Hello Kitty Mod this summer?"... <sigh> Hard to say no to that.

My oldest daughter has done a couple mods, her current is a Homestarrunner theme'd case.

But yah Lady... it's all your fault, I get to mod a case with my 8yo this summer (nicer weather, don't like working on cases in the snow and all).
