Hello Games Currently Testing “Experimental” No Man's Sky PC Patch

The game is an exploration sandbox game so expect more added features like Minecraft over time. Once they get base building, etc in there it will be a lot more fun. I've spent quite a few hours just finding plnaets and haven't even built a hyper drive yet.

Multiplayer would make it amazing. Hopefully they can do it but may not be that easy to implement if planets are generated differently for every user. Maybe they can allow players to meet at space stations?
The planets should be the same as they are generated off a specific "seed" number. One of the problems is that the planets themselves are enormous. I'm not positive, but they might actually be to scale.

Kind of enjoy the game actually. Good to play for an hour or so mining and flying around. I tried to take out a freighter. I circled around it and found its gun hard points. positioned myself to strafe both of them only taking minimal shield hits myself. I proceeded then to take out its storage pods to check for goods when a small 3 shield squadron joined up to defend the freighter and as I took off to get away they outran me and destroyed me. Lesson learned, bring a bigger gun.

I like not having other players. Play Rust for about 5 minutes and you'll see how a multiplayer No Man's Sky would evolve.
Rust was a fantastic game, until you met other players. Only server I liked was a canadian server. Everyone was relatively nice, but cautious...just don't screw with people or get too close, you'll be fine.

I get your point. If many players were hostile you'll end up getting robbed and killed most of the time. Not a fun way to explore the galaxy.

What could liven things up a bit would be more dangerous creatures so you would have to be more careful on certain planets. A bit like ARK survival.

Based on how this game seems to work, I don't see how base building would really work all that great. Once you deplete or get bored of a certain planet, what then? Just leave all your stuff? The game seems to reward you for keeping on the move to new planets, new systems, toward the center of the galaxy.

It would make more sense to have a mobile space station / capital ship that was your "base" so you could move around.

What would be REALLY cool is if you could have probes that go out to different worlds in the same system and scout for rare resources / interesting technology, or even harvest some of those resources for you.

I went to a theater the other day to watch an action movie. I walked out and demanded a refund. I told that worthless POS manager I paid good money for that ticket and I wasn't about to watch the latest in cinema technology get capped at 24FPS. He just stared at me like the dumbass he was, probably speechless because he realized how awesome I was.

You got to the center of the universe in two hours?

did you really get to the center that fast?...either way I think getting their faster would help the game...grinding through hundreds of planets would be tedious as hell...and what reward do you get for getting to the center?...probably nothing
No he didnt get there that fast, it takes a long time with having to upgrade your hyperdrive and all. Just someone who hasnt even played the game but feels they need to make a fake comment about it.

It takes ages to get the hyperdrive let alone get to the centre. I think I got the hyperdrive after around 10 hours of play and then before I jumped to another galaxy I found a damaged ship with 1 extra slot. Fixed it and found that it needed a different, unknown component to fix the hyperdrive..doh.

First this is a resource collection & crafting game like Terraria or Starbound or Minecraft(I'm guessing, since I haven't actually played it)or the last stage of Spore (pre-addons), just one that's set in a vast "infinite" environment. You have a multi-tool (which strangely looks similar to the one in Starbound, largest difference is you can't "build" stuff in the environment and the environment isn't as easily destroyable, but it is 3d. But overall it's a vast world, where you fiddling around collecting stuff is the main goal and a story is kind of sorta there in a minor way. Now if this isn't your type of game, then shame on you for being impetuous and buying the game because you bought into the hype train you have no one to blame but yourself.

Now that's out of the way, I do like those types of games, but this one does feel like it will get boring once you get tired of doing the same shit for the 25th hour in a row. I like the natural progression, it takes time to make stuff or get stuff, a few crashed ships I've found were worse (storage wise) than my starting ship too. However as mentioned there are way too many things on planets, and you kind of figure there has to be otherwise this would be a crazy long borefest going from planet to planet to find nothing. Iron and Plutonium are super abundant everywhere though, so you can make those chips that lets you use the beacons which lets you find all the special place without much effort of exploring, and you're bound to find a few places on the way to those locations. Use carbon to fill your gun/suit since it's super abundant said the writer... yeah bullshit Plutonium is almost as abundant (due to the limited storage capacity you have) and fills it up for less, so use that. Finally got the Altas Pass, now I"m finding all those upgrades for your suit storage space, seems like it'll get real pricy really quickly but then you go to a planet where there are mountains of gold all over the place... it is tedious to farm it, wish you could blast it with your ships cannon instead. I did get another multitool (looks more like a rifle) but it seems largely the same, has some extras already added on, maybe a couple more slots, overall same-shit different model.

Now is this worth $60? Most definitely not. Between $20 and 30 is my bet, a game like Starbound cost $15 when it's not on sale, so yeah a bit more for this due to the 3d landscape and what not. But again if this isn't your type of game, then that is not worth it either. But if you're expecting Halo in an "infinite" environment then you're a moron for thinking that, because that is not the type of game this is.

Same here- did you eventually find a blueprint for the missing component? I worked my way up to a decent ship and can't fir the hyperdrive or damage module for the same component.:eek::mad:

But enjoying the chill gameplay / exploration anyway. I have found some strange planets- Sentinel alerted planets where they are hyper-twitchy and aggro on sight, jawdroppingly beautiful planets (one full of tiny predators nipping at my ankles everywhere I looked), and I'm currently on a 'desolate' (seriously- called that in the description) planet with no hazards, no animals, almost no atmosphere, low sunlight, and creepy noises. The sentinels give so few cares that one almost flew through my mining beam, didn't even stop to scan me or the rock.

DLC ship comes with hyperdrive, you only need to fuel it.

Its still not a 2 hour process to get to the center. without upgrading the HD you can only jump so far in between systems.

I was on a planet looking for plutonium to recharge because I was empty and the surface temp was 100C and would have heat storms in the 180C range giving me about 45seconds I could stay in the environment.

Ive got it on PS4, i wasn't going to buy due to the "shallowness" reported of it, but I was a sucker and got it anyway. Needless to say I am typically not a fan of sandbox type games and this one is pretty fun. Ive logged about 12 hours in 4 days which for me personally, is pretty good for any game these days.

Ow!

Right? I figure if it's cheaper than any other hobbies I would do on a daily basis = win.
