Hellgate london - LOL?

Saw this while cruising BestBuy's game isle.

Anyone else see this at their BB?
 
miskey on a telxon or whatever label system they use... either $9.99 or more likely $19.99

Still, pretty funny... I'd probably do a double take if I glanced at that in the store.
 
the game is basically unplayable now, Online server been shutdown..

they should take out all the HGL out of store now, else its more like a scam for a game that you cant play...

It was a scam to charge money for that game ever since it was released, IMO. Never found a single valuable feature in its gameplay and instantly felt like I paid for a box of slap-in-the-face.
 
what a piece of junk. i was so hype for it when it was being developed up until they announced that it was pay to play. fucking morons. fuck you money hungry ass holes.
 
i enjoyed it for the two weeks that i played it until i realised there was no real way of teaming and no real way of trading (bearing in mind this was the first two weeks of release)
 
I enjoyed the singleplayer. But, I like mindless hack and slash, so...yeah.
 
I liked the single player demo that came out a long time ago. It was similar to a 3D Diablo.
Can you still play the single player or is the game completely non-functional?
Is Tabula Rasa the same way? I've seen both games for $5 each.

You can play singleplayer for Hellgate London just fine, it doesn't connect online at all for that part. Tabula Rasa is an MMO though and their servers are shutting down, so it won't be playable.
 
The only problem I had with the Hellgate London demo was the repetative background walls. I can only look at the same crumbling building 10 or 15 times in one outdoor environment before it gets boring. If it is $10 though, I may check it out.
 
Too bad they shut the servers down....lawl. I played the demo, and it was okay. Nothing to write home about, and as someone else said, a 3D Diablo. I know GS recalled all of their copies off of the shelf as soon as the server shutdown was announced.
 
I feel the same way when I see Age of Conan in stores knowing that game is on it's last legs.
 
Hellgate London was a great concept that got executed in the poorest fashion possible. Honestly, it would have been difficult to make the launch and future development even worse. It was a lot of fun to play online last year around January-February, but as the decisions made by the developers got dumber and dumber, the game just slowly died. Too bad really, the hunter class was lots of fun :D, and was the closest thing to an MMORPG I've enjoyed playing.
