HDMI port dead?

Plug a known-good display into it with a known-good cable and see if it works?
 
also do a visual inspection of your cables. i may or may not have ruined a couple of display cables by plugging them in by feel, and i (allegedly) ended up pushed a couple of pins out of place in the process.
