A few weeks ago I made a post about how my computer didn't always start up, and I think I've found the culprit.

At first, I noticed my CPU temps were up to about 72 C idle, which was pretty insane so I bought a new cooler (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus) which lowered down to 20 C!

However, my computer still has the problem of not always starting up, which I found out was due to a problem with my HD Radeon 4850. Whenever a red light shows up on it, it prevents the computer from booting at all. I think this might be due to overheating, but does anyone have insight into this?

I looked at GPU-Z and the temps for the GPU were around 50 C.

My Specs are:

AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE Processor
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus
4 GB DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon 4850 HD
650 Watts Corsair Power Supply
Windows 7 64 Bit

Did you plug in the power connectors on the video card correctly?
Also, did you secure the connection of the EPS12V connector?
Can you swap out PSUs?
 
Yes I plugged in both the power connector to the video card and the EPS12V connector to the motherboard. Unfortunately I don't have another PSU atm
