Well... things are sure looking pretty shitty for me right now. A little under two weeks ago, the beast hit close to home. A friend of mine's mother died of cancer. It hit her quick, she was only diagnosed two months ago. I didn't know her well, but it's still very sad to see her go. She was a fantastic person. Not to mention, I felt really bad for my friend. Dealing with a loss like this is always tough.
Then, last weekend, a coworker and friend (not a really close friend, but a friend none-the-less), was killed in a car accident after her homecoming dance. Not cancer related, but that certainly does not soften the blow any. It's been hard to actually think about her being gone. She too, was a great person. Good student, lots of friends, didn't mess around in anything she shouldn't.
Just when you figure the bullshit can't pile any higher, the beast strikes again. Another coworker, perhaps my favorite manager, died suddenly Saturday night of cancer. I just found out today. I am not sure what type of cancer she had. I knew she was battling it, but since she was still coming to work, I had assumed she was winning the fight.
So, there you have it. I get to attend three funerals in one week. It all really sucks. Even though none of them were family, all three were deaths a little to close to home, and a little to close together. I could handle one... but three is a little bit ridiculous. I still have a hard ti me grasping that any of this is real.
I don't know what else to say... other than that is has put a new found fire in me to keep folding. One day, were going to be saving people like them. Hopefully it's much sooner than later. I can't take much more of this.
