first of all here are my components:

power supply

motherboard

cpu

and my video card WAS gtx 460 but it got damaged

i have been looking into buying a new pc but i cannot afford it till maybe next year so i thought maybe i can get another year or 2 out of this current pc. i cant run windows 7 on it because i keep getting weird errors and it takes ages for anything to load properly

my questions are:

1. is that power supply responsible for my hardware performing badly? if so, can you tell me of a better one thats still affordable?

2. will a 460 gtx cause problems for this pc? i barely used it when i had it before it died off on me so i dont know if this board couldnt handle it

3. what ram could i buy? the one i got now might be old but i was looking into adding another 2 sticks of 4 gb or buying 8 gb since its very inexpensive right now

4. can that cpu last me another year or so? i dont really play games on here aside some older stuff

what weird errors? probally a slow hdd causing your slow load times. probally a ssd would be good for you.

1. the ps is more than enough for your hardware. there's nothing to indicate the ps as an issue here...
2. what do you mean it died off? just stopped working completely?
3. you need DDR2-800MHZ ram or PC-6400, might be expensive since it's out of date. maybe not worth it to upgrade.
4. if you don't play games, it should be fine.

1) A PSU doesn't affect performance but it does affect stability and reliability. That PSU is of fairly low quality though so it's more than likely the video card was damaged as a result. I recommend this PSU if you want headroom for future upgrades:
$66 - SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze 520W Modular PSU

2) Yes if you continue using that crappy PSU.

3) The motherboard you have only takes DDR2 RAM. So DDR2 RAM prices aren't inexpensive at the moment. With that said, if you want to reuse your OCZ RAM, make sure that whatever DDR2 RAM you're buying is rated at 2.2V and at DDR2 800 speeds. If you're not reusing your OCZ RAM, make sure the RAM is rated at 1.8V and at DDR2 800 speeds.

4) Depends on what games, what resolution, and and whether or not the CPU has been OC'd. Though for a lot of games circa 2009 or so, that CPU isn't gonna last you. For general usage, that CPU will be fine.
