Hi, all

Is it fair to say that new desktop hardware (esp. PSU and mobo) which has a trouble-free first year of use is less likely to develop defects-related problems in subsequent years, assuming normal usage, ie, the machine concerned isn't overclocked or stressed in other ways?

Your feedback, please!

IMO, not really as there's simply too many factors to account for when trying to figure out the chances of a piece of hardware developing issues and problems in subsequent years. I'd had it both ways: PCs that worked great the first year but PITA the second and vice versa.

Are you trying to decide whether to get an extended warranty or not?

What computer(s) are you looking at?
