At the moment it will go on my site. I resell for HostingMatters.com, a great little company out of Jacksonville FL. I get 28GB of transfer a month. But I also send out my other podcast (on vacation at the moment) through that site. So I'll start the podcast out on that server.

But as it gets more popular I'll have to move it off to somewhere else. I'm hoping Kyle can help with this. I know he's got a few machines at the Planet and that HF.com is hosted there as well. I am open to advertising, as long as it is in good taste. I think the Egg would be a great sponcer, and maybe they could have a special discount code for HFP (hard folding podcast) listeners. I don't know, I'm throwing around ideas. I know if Kyle hosts it there might be some legal issues we'd have to deal with. This is what's holding us back at the moment, I'm half done writing out my script.

If Kyle can't help, I'll open a tip jar to pay for some good hosting. All proceeds going to pay for the podcast or equipment used for it as needed. But we'll just wait and see how it goes.

I have an idea for the show. I want to dedicate each show to someone who is suffering, suffered, or passed away due to the beast we are fighting. I've got dibs on the first episode, but after that I'll start taking submissions one at a time from you guys and dedicate the show in honor or in memory of that person.

What do you guys think? Like an extention of the Why we DC thread. If you are interested in dedicating the show to someone email hfpodcast+dedicate@gmail.com with the info. I'd like the following info, but feel free to leave anything out if you don't know or don't wanna share.

Well bad news guys. I guess it's a no go on the HardFolding podcast. But it's not going to stop me from doing a folding podcast. So who knows how much I'll cover [H]orde stuff (don't want to be too biased if it's a general folding podcast).

And to keep it open I'll probably open a forum on my server for discussion. I hate to make everyone register at another forum, but I want a general place to discuss the show.

Look for the first show within a week or so. I need to grab a domain and get an account setup. I will probably open a tip jar to help pay for the bandwidth as needed.

Now to check if I need permission to use Folding@Home in a name or on the website.

Considered calling it "Fighting the Beast", but I guess I'll have to think about it. Ideas welcome.

I kinda doubt it, it's mainly because the [H] wouldn't have control of the content.

Well I'm worried that it would slow down the entire process. Having to write a script, send it to Kyle, who's very busy, and wait for him to get time to read it, approve it, and let me know so I can record it. I could record first but then I could run into an editing nightmare.

I'll probably contact Stanford and see if it's OK to do one for general folding. But I'm worried about legal issues there too. I don't want to represent anyone really, I just want to do something that will help the cause and get some exercise in audio production. I'm a firm believer in doing what you're passionate about, and I was hoping to put folding and audio together, But with all the red tape it might not be possible. Ideas are very welcome. I'll keep thinking about it and let you know.

well that sucks.... you may want to ask on stanford's forum about doing that folding-related podcast..... may even search there (if you haven't already)..... it may have been covered already?
