Hard Reset - PC Exclusive FPS

I'm getting the Extended Edition! I played the full game and LOVED it. I'm willing to get this version just because of the added creatures and extra levels alone!

Looks like the Extended Edition upgrade is going to be free.

Hey guys, First of all thanks for all the support you showed us with our first game!
To show our respect for all the PC gamers who picked up Hard Reset, we decided that the upcoming Expansion will be
FREE for all those who already own Hard Reset on Steam! :)
The DLC should be available sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May.

Have Fun!
Flying Wild Hog Team.

Really good news, whatever these guys make next, if it's a PC exclusive, I'm buying day 1 no questions. They deserve as much support from the PC community as they can get to be honest.

Wow, this is awesome. So they say April, but is the extended version available now on Amazon?

Cool, so that means if I wanted extended, it's available. I see it available now on Ammy.

Nice.

Tried the Extended Edition last night and I have to say that it looks better and runs better than the original version. I'm having a blast playing it again!

why the 1 month delay of the retail edition and the free Steam update?

On the off chance there are people willing to pay for it, or that don't realize it will come out on Steam eventually. They are in it to make money, and I can't say anything against how they are going about it really. you can pay and play it now, or wait a month if you already bought it on Steam.

Look, the steam version is not the retail version. The package will need to be rebuilt into a DLC format. The steam code as is may not support that. You might be talking about additional dev time. It is really hard to predict this stuff.

I have no problem waiting for the extra content. I can't get passed the part I'm on now so I'm not sweating it.

So to clarify, the the update will also update the current game not just the additional levels? That would be great. Looks great now and can't complain, so anything better is just added bonus.

Game is great, and actually quiet hard on these boss levels.

screw multi. new games with it never take off. there are just too many established franchises.

Ditto Jiminator. You are missing a pretty great SP experience and it won't break the bank.

Hmm, but co op would be awesome

I wanted to bump this thread to find out if anyone had information on the latest PC expansion pack to those who already have the game.

I heard April possible May, so far haven't heard much so assuming it's not out yet.

Official announcement was "sometime between the last week of April and the first week of May".

A recent comment from the devs on the Steam forum suggests that they're more or less on track.

It's funny, I got this game on that indie bundle and still haven't played it. The demo was pretty cool, though.

Maybe I'll just wait for the free expansion pack.

Maverick, it's a great game if the straight shooter is your thing. If the expansion is just a couple weeks away I'd wait. The graphics, which were already awesome, are suppose to be tweaked to look even better, plus a couple new levels.

I am actually stuck at a part which is ridiculously hard, so I'm waiting.

I've just purchased Hard Reset and I'm finding the levels - I'm on level 4 with the big gun - a bit too much one-way. Not just linear but often you cannot backtrack. You can't go back to secrets you missed, for instance, and there are far too many places where a door closes and locks behind you and the attack starts, or you jump down somewhere and the attack starts - basically places where you cannot retreat.

And even on Easy difficulty, it's fantastically hard.

I'm really stuck on the big gun, though. I've missed a lot of nano and made some sub-optimal upgrade choices.

Just finished the extended part. It's about five new levels and I really enjoyed it. I hope Hard Reset 2 is not too far off and retains the same quality of the original release.

Is the extended version out yet? Need a good sp....

The Extended edition was listed on EB Games website as a May release but it was pulled from their site a while back. Not sure if that effects the release of the digital edition for extended.

best thing is that after completing you can replay the game+ with your existing equipment and eventually collect everything. make sure you get the rail gun though, you will need it.

I'm still stuck on the big gun, even after replaying the first 3 levels and getting the RPG launcher - any tips?

Just went back to this game to try out the extended content and was pleasantly surprised, played through the whole game on easy really just to quickly get to the new stuff, it's a much nicer length in total, the new content contains several new enemies, bosses and some really quite cool and detailed environments.

I also played it in 3D, despite some FPS issues it was bloody cool, well worth going back to this if you bought the original but didn't try the extended edition yet, the update was free for me on steam.

i think hardreset isnt as good as i wanted. sure it is more like classic gameplay but i enjoyed quake 2 more when i first played that

Since getting stuck, I've gone back to it a couple of times but got no further, and, looking back, so far it's been entirely linear with little reward for intelligent play. So I doubt I'll go back to it.

I liked the base game but I think the DLC is just boring and too repetitive. Is it necessary to kill every enemy on the screen just to gain access to another area, and if you don't you won't be able to advance.

It's very much an old school shooter, it's primarily focused around arena play with floods of enemies, intelligence plays into the formula somewhat, if you use the right guns at the right time then it's a lot easier, but fundamentally the combat comes down to skill.

It was probably more fun on easy than it was medium, I'm not a fan of unreasonably hard challenges I just like to blow shit up, and found that for a reasonably advanced player, medium was a bit too frustrating, partly why I played through the 2nd time on easy.

It's funny you should say that but in games like Wolfenstein and Doom, if you played intelligently you could get the enemies to attack each other. I've not seen that in Hard Reset.

Put this one down for a bit and picking it back up now. Thought I'd start from scratch, but I never could finish the last boss. Friggin Hard.

Question I can't get answered, where are the new levels? I can't find them, thought they were mixed in with the older? No? Can't get an answer on the HR forums.

Still, this game looks ridiculous and runs really well.
