Hard Drive broken?...

Hi there, i bought a Seagate 7200.11 500GB a few days ago. I had my system on a WD2500KS RAID0 (2 drives) and I just plugged the new drive without a problem, the SO recognized it and I made some partitions on it with the Vista's Disk Utility ...

But now I've sold my WD KS I have many problems with my new drive :

-Almost EVERYTIME I have to reset the PC, after rebooting the bios doesn´t detect the hard drive, sometimes after the systems reboots for it self it happens they same.
-EVERYTIME i have to resume some download on the Azureus or Utorrent my SO hangs and i get blue screen of death (xD)
-Seagate Tools short test gives me errors and suggests me to run the long tests which also gives me errors :(:

-Vista Installation doesn´t start either, sometimes it works but doesn't detect any hard drive and others it just hangs before i can even choose the lenguage...
-XP installation seems to work (but it takes a lot of time to be installed), the SO works like my last Vista installation did, but i guess it doesn´t mean anything and my hard drive is still broken.

Should i return the hard drive where i bought it? Should i replace it for another seagate or come back to WD Caviar (WD5000AAKS)...?

PD: I have tested it with 3 different SATA cables and power cables...

By SO, do you really mean OS, as in Operating System?

Considering the errors, I'd RMA the drive right away for a replacement.

I am sorry, yes i wanted to say OS, in spanish is SO :p

Right now i am still considering the RMA option but i just installed windows XP without a problem so far , i will see the next couple of days how it goes...

Considering the problems you've had, and the tests results, Seagate would agree with you, right away, that it needs to be replaced. I would do so before it dies completely.

¡Hola HitMaker! Su nuevo maneja duramente es roto, y necesita reemplazado. ¡No lo confíe!

¡Buena Suerte!

Did I do good? :)

Yep, so far :p, almost your spanish is at the same level of my english :(

Finally i am going to RMA it, HDTACH always fails no finish the last test (hangs in the middle) and some program installations takes too long...

I am gonna try the MHDD program (it tests and recovers sectors from the hard drives) but i don´t expect anything from it, no miracles

Thanks for your help.
