Hey guys,

I live in Switzerland and I want to buy new speakers for my computer. I have only 200 CHF for all = 203 USD
I read a lot of reviews, but I can not choose because here the prices are quite different.

My use is listen to music (electro / rap us) and watch videos on youtube / streamings on the web. The distance will be 1-2 meters between me and my speakers.

I found interesting this products :

1) M-AUDIO Studiophile AV 40 (125 chf = 127 usd)
2) Swan M10 (165 chf = 167 usd)
3) Creative GigaWorks T3 (201 chf = 205 usd)
4) Audioengine A2 are more expensive (215 chf = 219 us)
5) Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 are impossible to found
6) others ...

Out of those, for the price, I'd easily pick the AV40. They seem to have a spotty reliability record tho. Swan as second choice if you've got the desk space for the mid woofer.
 
The swan has the most bass. For what the OP listens to, the M10 is going to sound the best for that type of music.

Why the AV40? No sub there. Bass will roll off at 80hz if he's lucky. That is going to piss him off.
 
Its to bad the satellites suck on the T3's i love the subwoofer. AV40's are best for music out of the listed speakers.
 
Av 40 : best sound quality but no bass = problem, no money for a subwoofer

A2 vs Swans M10, who are the best ? even if they do not have the same price
 
The A2's are pretty darn good! I heard them once in a speaker store near me and asked "sooo, where's the subwoofer? all that sound can't be coming from those little speakers!" The salesman told me otherwise, there was no subwoofer. They get LOW for how small they are. I don't think they'll play loud, but they do a great job for what they are. Probably the best sounding of all the ones you listed in your first post. (however I've never heard the swans and those too are highly regarded).

No but they will have more bass than the AV40. Weird configuration though that is true.

So the Swans have the most bass. The A2 and the AV40 will sound the best. If it was me I would get the A2 and get a subwoofer when I could.

Well out of the mentioned stuff its a toss up between Promedias and the T3's for the most bass.
 
Get the A2's, cheap subs sound like shit and try too hard to make up for the flimsy satellites.
 
The A2 are awesome for their size, but they're overpriced for what they are. If you need something that compact then they're worth it, but otherwise you can get better sound for less w/some passives or even some other larger active monitors.
