At least for all you English Folk across the pond, a UK Charity wants today to be deemed 'No Tech Day'. I don't know about you, but no tech for me is almost like no sex, almost.

Why would anyone want to give up something voluntarily?

No Tech Day sounds awful, I wonder if anyone ever goes a full day without using anything technology related by choice if they are a true tech-head

Whenever I go work on an archaeology project its no tech day for me. Once I get back to town I feed my addiction of video games. Sometimes it is enjoyable to get away from the trappings of civilization, that is not to say that every human being finds it so.

The difference between tech and sex for me, Kaleb, is that I can go without sex for long periods. Can't say the same for technology.

My friend has a term for it: sex camel.

Then you my friend are a stronger person than I.

They want people to go without technology so you can understand how important it is that we help developing nations have technology. In order to convince us to do it they tell us it'll ease our stress, be refreshing, and be like a holiday. If they think technology causes stress and all these other things that going without it is suppose to bring, is it really that good an idea to increase the stress level of the developing nations by increasing their technology?

If I go a day without technology, and find that I'm less stressed, I feel refreshed, and it felt like a holiday to me do they really think the first thing on my mind will be 'Oh my, I better make sure people who don't have technology get some right away.'

No tech day... yet they announce it on the internet.

Would have been fine if they'd announced it well ahead of time. It's the people using tech they want to reach, no?

The irony is that we found out about it by signing into a tech site on that day.

Today is no tech day? That's sounds kind of refreshing, I think I'll paticipa... wait... darn it. Oh well, maybe next year.

it feels so good, to turn off my cell phone, turn off tv, computer, and go do something outside! No annoyances, no blue screens!
