H50 noise around radiator

Intro: I made a little trip to Micrcenter with my wife for some Patriot DDR3 and a few other things. And of course, we left with more than was on our checklist. One of which is the ever-so-popular Corsair H50.

Problem: I'm getting a weird humming/air turbulence noise at the radiator. This is eliminated when I slow the down below 1100 RPMs. I can also eliminate the noise with the fan at full speed by placing my finger tip on the intake or exhaust side of the unit. Seems to disrupt the turbulence.

Current setup: I have my H50 in the recommended intake configuration with the included fan. I am using a Zalman FanMate2 to control the fan speed off the CPUFAN header. Pump is plugged into the SYSFAN1 header.

Question: How do I go about retaining a moderately high RPMs/CFM without this odd noise? Do I need a spacer between the fan and the radiator? Add a fan for a push/push configuration?

Anyone?

I added another fan onto the radiator and the noise has gone away. I'm thinking it was some manor of cavitation causing that whispery humming noise.

But now that that is taken care and quiet I can hear that my power supply is rather noisey. So I'm either going to replace the fan on it, slow the fan down or replace the whole psu entirely. Because, dang.... it's a loud.

ewwww.... Raidmax... definitely replace it. I'm not even sure if Raidmax makes any good power supplies.

As for the H50... not really sure, sounds like the fan and the radiator have some sort of issue where they cause the air to vibrate at certain RPM's, and vibrate in such a way as to cause audible noise. Then again, it could be the fan itself that's causing it.

Yeah, everybody dogs on my little old Raidmax. But I believe, until now, I've been one of the lucky ones. I've had it in 3 different computers over the past 3 years and it has been a champ. But its time has come for greener pastures. :) I have a Antec TPS-650 Trio that I'll probably transplant in temporarily. I'd like to see the TX650 go on sale for a longer term solution. I think I'll worry about buying a new one closer to time when my custom fabricated case is completed.

As for the fan noise, problem solved with adding another fan. I'm almost positive it was a low freq whistling effect, sort of like blowing across the top of a glass coke bottle.

And raidmax.
...? And raidmax is by far the greatest psu of all time? Is that what you meant to say? Haha, kidding. I know, it has to go. I was on a tighter budget back when I bought it. Now I don't really have a budget, but I don't like to spend exuberant amounts of money on my PCs.
